If time is available, another idea is real steamboat ride on the Mississippi. Never forgot how the sliding arm(?) steam engine moves the paddlewheel. That or plantation tour are also good photo ops.

Love it that you do this every year around this time, Randy. Unfortunately, I could not choose just one. You'll either have to take all 3 or just not view this post.

We were in Alaska (my absolutely favorite place on earth!) again last July and were fortunate enough to spend almost an entire day at Brooks Falls. Brooks Falls = BEARS. Three shots SOOC taken with my Tamron 150-600 mounted on my D5200. It was a very dreary, drizzly (not to be confused with grizzly) day. Not my best, but some of my favorites!

Hope you all enjoy them.

Am enjoying all pictures here. You are right, lots to do and many sights for your camera in Alaska. We saw a mother bear and 2 cubs from a distance and won't be going back so your bears are especially neat for us.

From my family's trip to Costa Rica in June, 2016. I picked this otter because it was shot from a small boat in a Caribbean side National Park in very dim shade. He just 'shooed' his family back into deep vegetation and he was about to follow. Used my trusty Tamron 5.6 300mm and Photoshop E to brighten the shade.

My 2 Holly bushes are picked clean. Pretty colors. I would think in GA, birds will get to that Holly as they need it.

Regis, great framing on that Eagle. Yes the bar is high but I keep trying except now, as the temperatures are too low.

Funny! Don't we (buying public) say competition causes product improvements. So my hope for the New Year is photography professionals and hobbyists can afford to fulfill their urge or need to acquire the brand of equipment they choose.

When in my drug store I said; "If we don't have it, you don't need it".

I'm glad 'Butterball Hotline' wasn't needed. Must have been a false alarm.

Always enjoy bird pictures, especially those eating their favorite food. Nice sequence, but I need to ask; did you happen to see how the Heron managed the rather plump fish he had in his beak?

I bought skates like those with key to tighten on shoes at a yard sale, so I could skate with my kids, only on our sidewalk. Good memories. Thank you.

I was glad when one of the iguanas ran and the fight ended. The one on the left was the better fighter.

I guessed the left one was better fighter (biter), more blood on the right Iguana. Colorful animal.

Thank you for showing interesting photos and reasons for training fruit trees on a trellis. Gave me a good reason to take a drive to PA's Adams county (home of Musselmans and Gettysburg) to see if their orchards are doing this.

I think the eagle is saying: "Where is the nearest ophthalmologist?" His one eye is cloudy. Hope he can hunt well enough to survive.
