I really know little about branding, or horses for that matter. But I noticed that the horse's branding marks were all different. If they had been branded by a rancher to mark them as being his/hers, wouldn't they all have the same brand? That made me wonder if they could be truly wild horses but branded by the national park, (or other agency responsible for the area), to identify each horse for tracking their individual genealogy, health, or other record keeping purpose?

That is only a guess or suggestion to explain the different markings. As usual, I really don't know what I'm talking about.

Regardless of the markings, these are really very nice shots. I've enjoyed them -- Thanks for posting. If you said where they were taken, I missed it but would like to know.

I'll try to post a few wild horse shots I took in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota's badlands. I just flipped through them and could not see any signs of branding. I guess they should be in a separate heading instead of interfering with your postings.

This rancher was boarding horses for several owners and grazing them together in this very large tract of grazing land.

We're only moving about 20 miles north of here. It's getting too expensive here and this will be more reasonable and more fun we're thinking. Al's relatives all live up there.

Good luck with the move!

These are absolutely wonderful shots, Cliff! The third one should be in a frame on your wall! I have many shots of moose in Canada, but they're all with a film camera many years ago, and I can't scan them 'cause my albums are all boxed up as we're getting ready to move! Someday I'll share them! Yours are really excellent!

Where are you headed? Generally?

Who cares???Great shots! Never seen that many Bulls together in one spot. Where'd you find them? Show some more

These bulls were laying next to Brainard Lake 20 miles south of Estes Park, CO next to the Arapahoe Peaks area.

While being on National Forest Land, this area does allow limited hunting of moose. I believe one of these four bulls was killed by a hunter with a bow and arrow under the direction of a forest ranger who was there to show the hunt was allowed by the rules of this area. The moose was shot while park visitors watched and it caused quite a stir and much dissent. Other moose were in the immediate area and ran away in terror. While this area could be full of moose and some harvesting of bulls would prevent a slow starvation, it was hard to see one of these grand male moose taken from our sight.

This is a terrific perspective. How lucky you were to be able to get so close.

Of course rattlesnakes live where prairie dogs live, so be careful where you lie down. It would be embarrassing explaining to the ER nurse how you were envenomated in your arse.

I have bouts of laziness. When I get tired of taking boring photos, I lay down on the ground to see life from my subject's eyes. This prairie dog allowed me to get within eight feet of his burrow. Probably because he was enjoying his breakfast.

Well, I guess it just had to come to this sooner or later!

A blond man is in the bathroom and his wife shouts: "Did you find the
shampoo?"
He answers, "Yes, but I'm not sure what to do... it's for dry hair, and I've just wet mine."

Funny. Never heard blonde jokes about men before. Not as funny as the blonde female jokes.

------------------------------------

A blond man spies a letter lying on his doormat.

It says on the envelope "DO NOT BEND."

He spends the next 2 hours trying to figure out how to pick it up.

------------------------------------

A blond man shouts frantically into the phone, "My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"

"Is this her first child?" asks the Doctor.

"No!" he shouts, "this is her husband!"

---------------------------------

A blond man is in jail, the guard looks in his cell and sees him hanging by his feet.

"Just WHAT are you doing?" he asks.

"Hanging myself," the blond replies.

"The rope should be around your neck" says the guard.

"I tried that," he replies, "but then I couldn't breathe."

------------------------------------

An Italian tourist asks a blond man: "Why do scuba divers always fall backwards off their boats?"

To which the blond man replies: "If they fell forward, they'd still be in the boat."

--------------------------------------

A friend told the blond man: "Christmas is on a Friday this year."

The blond man then said, "Let's hope it's not the 13th."

------------------------------------

Two blond men find three grenades, and they decide to take them to a police station.

One asked: "What if one explodes before we get there?"

The other says: "We'll lie and say we only found two."

------------------------------------

A woman phoned her blond neighbor man and said: "Close your curtains the next time you and your wife are having sex. The whole street was watching and laughing at you yesterday."

To which the blond man replied: "Well the joke's on all of you because I wasn't even at home yesterday!
Well, I guess it just had to come to this sooner o... (show quote)

An Old Wooden Church In Poland ......really something to see.

This church is so beautiful, one has to wonder how you could possibly concentrate on the service?
This church had been built by Germans since this part of Poland had been German until WW II,
when the Oder/Neisse line had been drawn.

Details in this church are absolutely amazing. Take a good look.
Use the pointers at the bottom of the picture to view all the different angles,
up and down and the + sign to zoom in. ItÂ’s incredible. Move your cursor around to see it all.

The more time I look at the detail the more amazed I become. The Germans have a gift for detail.
