Even here in Michigan a trip to the yard is filled beauty, but sometimes one has to get down close and personal with nature. 'Course there are times just when one gets down and close we miss beauty of the neighbors blooming horse-chestnut tree, the future food for fatten squirrels.

AS SENT TO ME THIS EVENING, ENJOY and add your favorite(s).

LEXOPHILES
"Lexophile" is a word used to describe those that have a love for words, such as "you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish," or "to write with a broken pencil is pointless." A competition to see who can come up with the best lexphillies is held every year in an undisclosed location. This year's winning submission is posted at the very end.

When fish are in schools, they sometimes take debate.

A thief who stole a calendar got twelve months.

When the smog lifts in Los Angeles U.C.L.A.

The dead batteries were given out free of charge.

A dentist and a manicurist married. They fought tooth and nail.

A will is a dead giveaway.

I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.

With her marriage, she got a new name and a dress.

A boiled egg is hard to beat.

When you've seen one shopping Center you've seen a mall.

Police were called to a day care Center where a three-year-old was resisting a rest.

Did you hear about the fellow whose whole left side was cut off? He's all right now.

A bicycle can't stand alone; it is two-tired.

When a clock is hungry it goes back four seconds.

If you jump off a Paris bridge, you are in Seine.

A plateau is a high form of flattery.

The guy who fell onto an upholstery machine is now fully recovered.

He had a photographic memory which was never developed.

When she saw her first strands of grey hair she thought she'd dye.

Acupuncture is a jab well done. That's the point of it.

===And the cream of the wretched crop is . . .===

Those who get too big for their pants will be exposed in the end.

The download gives it an almost three D appearance. With the "bugs" buzzing above the slightly out of focus "eye" of a predator just waiting an opportunity to strike, from the under growth of a beautiful colorful foreign underbrush.
Granted one must get in close and personal with a distorted sense of humor or tragedy.
Meanwhile backing back to reality, it is really a pretty average shot of flower doing what a flower does, getting along in life until it literally goes to seed. I have literally hundreds, counting the many I toss out that I enjoy and often remember when and where and how good it feels to shoot and be shot.
Often it is the process, the experience that feels good. Be careful when listening to critiques, they weren't there enjoying, yet don't disregard either.
On to another set of ball juggling. Keep on keeping the enjoyment.

My info from local Vets, is that the system in Michigan is going reasonable well. Yes there are foibles but in general the system is responding reasonable well. I am vet, but have not taken advantage of the system as of yet although the local rep has encouraged me to do so as it is working for him and the guys and gals he represents.
Seems that once you get passed the initial steps the service is good; timely, caring, hard working for the service person.

Some perspective:
Old incumbents bring business to the community they represent that a newbie does not have the influence to do so. So the incumbent is what the locals like. Term Limits (TL) thus limits freedom of choice. After all the voting majority is what keeps the oldsters in office. “We like our guy, it’s the other guy who is bad and should be termed limited, but not our guy who just got (put in any benefit that fits) for us.” Why else would the F35 be built in almost every state in the USA.

It is the party that brings on divided government which has resulted in the tremendous split in our government. Newbies will be more prone to follow party guidelines as they need party backing in order to get support for re-election.

As the politician gains experience and becomes ineligible (TL) for that office she or he will then venture to the next office. When that time ends he or she will then look for jobs with enterprises that desire their experience and influence thus they become consultants to the newbies in one of the offices, committees or other positions of influence now left open because of TL.

As the newbies takes office they will have to hire professional staff to advise and consult on the numerous bills before them. The staff thus becomes overly influential on the matters at hand. As the newly elected is learning their way around DC and the rest of country/world, as they learn about economics, health, world affairs, education, media manipulation, and … they have to rely on the staff.

It is suspect that even the old timers are voting on things that they and their staff have little or no experience in. One of the reasons we had trouble with bankruptcy is that the laws/policies were all developed and passed by “professionals” who did not have sufficient knowledge about the causes and influences of the banks/customers/regulators to write logical and affective laws.

It is therefore suspect that (TL) is not the/an answer, but just one more complicating factor in a whole raft of issues that are keeping us from working as a healthy democracy.

Sorry for the lengthy response, but TL is not as simple as it might appear.

Clear skies here, supposedly one can see Mercury (the planet not the element) just as the sun sets. Not as exciting as rocks fallen through the air.

Just like always, right? Clear sky, cool weather, no bugs, NO ACTION. Cloudy, buggy, rainy, snowy, great actions somewhere else. Camera out of power, put where I can't find it, oh ya, loaned it out, Great action somewhere else. If it were,'t for bad luck...
Happy Memorial day for Vets and family and friends and kind strangers.

Got up 2am, got winter jacket on, pulled out the folding chair found a open sky (reasonably so), and sat, and sat, and sat. Saw two streak, one airplane, one UML (unidentified Moving Light. It moved about a spread hand distance, got brighter about half way, past by a branch on a tree and disappeared.
It was very cool morning, no bugs, no clouds, open sky, and DARN FEW METEOR. Otherwise not bad. The reports HINT that it might have just a 24 hours delay??

Having read 3 pages, I notice no one mention keeping both eyes open. I use mainly my left eye, but can switch with some minor discomfort, but I like keeping both eyes open so I can change my attention from view finder to full scene to stay oriented and thus I can change the content of the picture. Of course many times, I also forget what it was that I was trying to capture and end up pushing the off button rather than the shutter release, but that is just another matter for another time.

Our cat snores, rather loudly, but as Kraken points out, it is hard to relate to Hedges sleeping pattern accept through our own interpersonal inhaling experiences.Really only Hedges sleeping partner can relate to the disruption brought on by the gentle sounds, although the intrusion of human interloper one guess could count, but personally I would likely throw the bum for unwarranted intrusion into my private space. Ah but now on to newer subjects, my electric mower is making a weird sound, should I ...no!

When we traveled with our adult daughter she would at times sleep in the motel/hotel bathtub because of my snoring. Thanks to CPAP I no longer have to sleep in the basement next to the coal shoot.

Perhaps another example of the telling difference between a picture and a movie film. Each has it time and place.
Kia certainly has come a long way since it's inception.

Seems to me someone, a few years ago, bought the "London Bridge" transported here and stuck it in Arizona. It is a bridge made in 1831, over the Thames, now:
After World War II, traffic on the bridge began to dramatically increase. By 1962, it was evident that the bridge was crumbling into the Thames and was unable to handle the traffic flow over the river. With the London government in financial straits, it needed someone willing to buy the crumbling heirloom and remove it for them. Luckily, the right person came along. Oil man Robert McCulloch, the Chairman of McCulloch Oil Corporation and the founder of Lake Havasu City, Arizona purchased London Bridge for $2,460,000 and paid an additional seven million dollars to have the bridge dismantled, shipped to American and reconstructed in its current location.
London Bridge currently sits across a boating channel off Lake Havasu. It is a major tourist attraction as one might expect. The bridge is 950 feet long and weights more than thirty tons. As a fitting backdrop for the bridge, the town put up a mini Tudor village complete with many Tudor-style structures that house various shops. As a popular resort town, there is much to see and do in Lake Havasu, but no visitor should miss a chance to drive or take a stroll across the famed London Bridge. For more information also see Lake Havasu London Bridge.
Therefore having a bridge for sale in Arizona is not so far off the mark. Oh, it was oil money what bought and brought.
