Oregon is a beautiful state with much to see. I don't agree with their politics though.

I think the fact that I can go to the Oregon coast, the mountains (several to choose from) or the desert/highlands all within a couple of hours drive is one of the reasons I have stayed here. Politics and politicians run their course. I have lived in Oregon for 71 years and have seen many changes. Some good and some not so good. In my opinion that is. But I am guessing that could be said for most states.

Nice photos--four is my winner.

Good morning Jaymatt,
Thank you. Mother nature did the hard work. I just pushed a button. :)
I am lucky to live in a area where I can enjoy areas like these.
Take care, be safe and have a great day.

Thanks for your Photography Travelogue.
It was very enjoyable and well done.

I’m itching to get out and make pictures. Seems forever that we have been infer Stay In Place orders.

Good morning Charley,
Thank you. It was so nice to get out. I had a great couple of days.
Yesterday I watched the NASCAR race at the Indianapolis Speedway. Beautiful racetrack. Hope to get there one day.
Take care and be safe.

Very picturesque. It's obvious why they were named the Painted Hills. Nice shots - I especially liked the panoramas. Thanks so much for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed. I have lived in Oregon all of my life (lots of years) and this is the first time I have been there. One more thing off my bucket list.

Last week my wife and I escaped COVID-19 jail. We figured a road trip would be safe.
Our destinations were Shaniko, Oregon. A almost but not quite ghost town. Population 39 at last count.
Then Smith Rock Park. In the 80's it was a international rock climbing destination. Since then several
groomed hiking trails have been added. Then it was off to The Painted Hills. One of the Seven Wonders Of Oregon. I read where the best time to view the hills is after it has rained. Well there wasn't a cloud in the sky when we were there. But the hills did not disappoint all the same.
Enjoy!

Okay, now i am going to make you feel real bad. lol
I have eight zones on my sprinkler system. Every plant, shrub, rose bush, 12 hanging baskets and the lawn all are on sprinklers and drips. I lost count how many drip lines I have run. I actually drew a schematic where all the lines are. Over kill.
So after working for K2 I met my first wife and started a family. My daughter was probably four when she asked me if I was going to her birthday party? That was my come to Jesus moment. I spent so much time at work I wasn't watching the kids grow up. Time for a career change. I quit the TV station and looked for a job that was 8 to five and weekend off. Ended up working for a natural gas company. Stayed with them for just short of thirty five years.

Outstanding. You are a colorist. Don't know what that last blue one is.

Thank you,
I have seen your work. It is awesome. I am curious what you would do with this photo? Just wondering. :)
The plant is a rare one. It is a Aquilegia Blue Columbine. From a large family of plants from delicate wildflowers to frilly doubles.

I hadn't even noticed your northwest reference when I first commented... that's really interesting. Now you've made me curious which TV station you worked for. :-) I can sure think of worse things to "pick up" from a coworker than becoming a good photographer. What an opportunity! They can give you more exposure but you have to have something in you that resonates... and it's obvious you do and did.

BTW... is that a 'Mt. Fuji' cherry in your photo? I've not grown that but it certainly deserves its popularity. We have an old row of Yoshino cherries along the driveway. I should post a few pictures I took of those earlier this year. The cultivar was 'Daybreak.' Alas... getting to the end of their life cycle and we've lost three so far. I used to work at the Bremerton Furney's Nursery before it closed ... so am kind of a plant nut like your wife. ;-)
I hadn't even noticed your northwest reference whe... (show quote)

I worked for KATU-TV, a ABC affiliate. KOMO was and probably still is it's sister station. It was a interesting job. It was during the Vietnam conflict. I had finished my time in the service and was working at K2. President Nixon came to visit. 1970, if I remember correctly. I have some interesting pics that I took of him, the protesters and riot police and more. Just one of many stories. Spent a lot of time at Trojan nuclear plant when it was being constructed. '70 to '75.
Yes, that is a Mt. Fuji. We have three of them. You should post pictures. Beautiful trees.
Nothing wrong with being a plant enthusiast, I just finished redoing our drip system one more time. :)
