They look great... How did you create the frame in the second one... It really sets off the picture
In Picasa under the 5th menu - last section, go to "Border" and in that move the "corner radius". You can make the edges curve in like I did with the 2nd one. Or you can go even more and make a circle around a picture and then widen the gap - and change color of it. There is so much you can do with Picasa.
These are a little different from the ones I posted yesterday but still the finished products. These were special requested and sold as soon as the enlargements were sent back to me. Any comments appreciated. Loved the comments from yesterday's postings - helps letting me know I'm on the right track.
Beautiful, I'm sure you will have many sales. Question from a newbie with no ps experience. Call me Head Start. Do you have a dark background when shooting the photo or is it done in Elements?
Sometimes the background is fairly dark and in picasa I just darken the whole photo even more. When you use the plastic wrap effect in Elements that'll darken the background some too.

Thank you all. For the first and 3rd one I had already applied picasa effects before using the plastic wrap filter. The second one was made straight from the original flower photo and then I used picasa with it. By the way - the ones I had made like this were sold as soon as I made the frames for them. I will post photos of those tomorrow.
I have Elements 9 that I was experimenting with last week in the filters section. I hit the plastic wrap filter and this is what I came up with - the metal effect. Once I applied it I went to my picasa to alter it even more. I sent them out to be enlarged and laminated and when they came back I was amazed at how good they looked!! I also found out that this effect doesn't work on everything so it's a matter of just trying. What do you guys and girls think?
Excellent shots and does she have a portfolio started yet?? These would be good to put in one or start one if she has thoughts of making a career out of dancing.
Wow - if Paul Harvey only knew then how close to being right in what he said - he was. I used to love his commentaries. In his ramblings the guy actually made a lot of common sense and encouraged the public to look beyond tomorrow.
Hi Thombar - I've been in a wheelchair 26 years (paralyzed from a motorcycle accident), been into photography about 15 years now. My sense of balance is limited, my shoulders gave out on me 4 years ago and I had to get an electric wheelchair. I used to use a Canon XTi with zoom lenses but got a Canon SX40 which gave me more range to shoot so I can get what I can't get to. As long as your hands are pretty steady you might think about getting something along the lines of an SX40 or SX50. The range is incredible and the picture quality is fantastic. Something to think about.
Beautiful truck and great HDR. I learned how to drive with a 1949 Studebaker flat bed pick up out in a hay field on my grandfather's farm. Your photo brought back alot of memories.
I have a Sigma 70-300 macro lens I use with my XTi that has the same switch. In the macro mode it'll focus up to 200 feet, in the normal mode it's out of the macro mode and into the regular 70-300 range. If you look real close when you're focusing in the macro mode, all the background around the object you're focusing on is kind of blurry where in the normal mode it isn't. Of course I'm not sure how a 50mm would compare to a 70-300 zoom but I'd think the same principle is still there.
