It's a beautiful photo of a super cool insect. I took a bit of offense about the "Smack it" comment and started to respond in a bit of a preachy tone about the urge some people have to kill anything small and free, then thought better of it. Since there's no way to delete our comments, I edited it.

Just for your info, adult crane flies look like giant mosquitoes but aren't at all. The eat flower nectar or sometimes nothing before they mate and lay eggs and die. The young crane flies are carnivorous and eat mosquito larva if the eggs are laid in water, small worms if laid on land.
