Piloted by an Aussie & three other Australians as crew,,,, out of all America you can't find a Captain.
Just wondering how it is reported over there,,,, do they mention he is Australian ?

May make you all feel better if we agree that it's the ones who spent the most money who won! ??

Hi from NZ, the hull was built in US, but Core Builders Composites in Warkworth, here in NZ, a company that is a 100% owned subsidiary of Oracle, produced the wing-sails, foils and appendages. When Team NZ reached the magic 8 race wins, help in the form of experts and equipment arrived from CBC, to assist Oracle in any way at all. It has to be acknowledged that without this extra assistance, Oracle might well have continued to struggle. Emirates Team NZ have been exceptional, reaching the 8 all , and losing to Oracle who had NZ experts, and a huge financial backing to help them win today. Credit to Dean Barker, Ray Davies, and all our team, in our eyes they are winners. Cheers, Nancy J

Hi, this is detailed in a website with more about Oracle, but I would have liked to have seen that spoken in public today, by Jimmy Spithill after his victory. Dean was gracious with his words, and said that the city of San Francisco had made the team feel incredibly welcome and that they were so very thankful for that. We can all be so proud of Emirates Team NZ, and to be a Kiwi. Cheers, Nancy J

Slightly wrong there from what Ive heard there is only one aussie one brit and the others Kiwis. Both boats are NZ made except the hull. Hardly any Americans have even heard of the americas cup. Its all about a rich boys sport. I also find it strange that the last 7 races that they would blitz NZ. Could it be the automated gadget they installed to operate something that would free up a man to help with grinding? I don't think they could just become super humans after one night and then go on to win every race. something is not right there. Some would call it cheating others would call it within the rules I guess.

If you Google " Martin Tasker, the good, the bad and the Ugly" he gives details that we might not have known. Speed, and in this case that equals huge amounts of money, won the race. Cheers, Nancy J. I do like your last sentence!!!

I don't think the 'America's Cup has rules - just guidelines to be fought over by teams of lawyers. Wasn't this the competition that took forever to complete a few years back because the Kiwis stuck some kind of a wing on thier keel, something that nobody else had thought of at the time.

Anyway, along with smart looking boats and gopro type cameras everywhere at least the viewing was exciting.

Thank you very much for letting me know, I can't believe they would pull a topic in chit chat about a boat race,,,,,,, well I can actually.
The Admin just proves what the rest of the world thinks of them,,,, there's them & no one else on this planet.
I hope he has the guts to respond & apologise for insulting me & the rest of the non Americans.
Cheers !
