This is hard to believe, but it seems to be true. Jade Helm 15 is an Army exercise spreading over nine states. People in Texas are so afraid of their army that they think the army is going take over Texas. Think about that. The United States is going to invade and occupy Texas. As a result, the governor of Texas is having the Texas State Guard keep an eye on things. Will the Texas State Guard be able to defeat the United States Army? Is that even a consideration?

Boy, we have a stupid, paranoid population. Post something on the Internet, and it becomes The T***h. This is embarrassing.

This week I started a project My Nightly Walk, where I would pick one and only one subject in my neighborhood walk, and keep one photo. No post-processing. Get my exercise and a challenge.

Anyway, the first two nights were fun. Folks liked my photos, and the concept. Third night I was confronted twice by residents concerned that I was photographing their property. I was in the general vicinity, but never pointed my camera at their property. I explained what I was doing to both. One drove off with a suspicious look, the other seemed semi-OK with it.I've had the police drive by me and look me over whle I qwas out at night taking photos of Christmas lit houses and boats in the basin. Not a problem, they just need to know your legit

Neighborhood shoots now seem a tricky proposition. Ami over-stepping my bounds, or do I just ignore them as being paranoid?

You'd think that after all these crashes, over many years, NC would do something about this bridge. So many vehicles are taller than 11' 8". Putting up major can't-miss warning signs would be a first step. Digging the road a bit deeper would be a good solution.

On the approach to an overpass near me, there are two poles on either side of the highway, placed over a mile before the overpass. If the beam shooting between them is interrupted by a truck that is too tall, warning lights flash.
