Is asking how often an individual looks at the controls on his camera rude?!?

... After all, nadelewitz's post seemed more rhetorical because of the seemingly snarky & sarcastic remarks which were embedded in the question ("How do you read info on a display....viewfinder, lcd or top of camera.....if the camera is upside-down?"), yet I took the time to provide a REAL reply to hopefully provide some ways which the OP's granddaughter might be able to shoot pictures with her left hand.

If nadelewitz isn't a "Snowflake" then he is a Troll who is not unlike others who appear to feel that insincerity within THEIR gratuitous, drive-by remarks cannot be questioned & thereby reveal them to be who they pretend not to be.

WHAT?!?

So, you consider that asking YOU how often you look at the controls on your camera is being rude?

Sheesh ...

... I guess you are the type of person who some other people might label as a "Snowflake."

Wear it with pride!

Oh, for crying out loud, quit acting like children and get back to the serious subject of this thread. Offer some helpful comments or go away.

Does any camera manufacturer that you know of make a left-handed camera (shutter release on left side)? My grand daughter had a stroke on the left side of her brain when she was born, and has little use of her right hand, but left hand functions normally. I bought her a simple point-and-shoot, but she has a very difficult time using it. She comes with me taking photos and would like to take them on her own. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody has asked this question yet, so I will. To what extend is the right hand disabled. Can she hold tethered objects? Do the shoulder, elbow and wrist function, and to what extent? Can the right hand be trained to respond to a stimulus. Sometimes, with imagination and training (and a true desire to learn), we find that some conditions are not as debilitating as they originally seemed.

Sorry, not since some of the older Exa'a (and possibly Exacta's). But no digitals. May I suggest a remote attached to her right wrist like a wristwatch - or one looped to the palm side of her left hand.

In spite of Tatooed Fuji Fat Fanboyโ€™s constant (repetitive) ravings on YouTube, I am still very impressed with the specs and reviews of this camera. I wish I could afford one.

This is a person who makes a living taking pictures of new born and their parents.

She has a D800 and likes this camera. Just for fun and to learn what she thinks of the newer camera I loaned her my D850. Yes, I am trusty this way. Anyway, all her images are shot high ISO for many valid reasons. I told her to try heavily under expose some of her test captures (-4), just for fun. She was really doubtful about that but she did and now will have to do a comparison. I do not have her results at the moment but in two weeks I will get her impression on the camera as a whole and on that little test in particular.

In any case only the buffering size left her speechless. (over 100 captures - uncompressed raw shot at 1/800s and written on the XQD card were already recorded when she let go the shutter button, the camera was ready for more).

Her software of choice is LR ( ).

Goon on yer for being so trustful. I will loan out any of my cameras, except my 65+ year old Leica IIIf.

Yea, I got it. (He removes them from the list after a while to see how they are.)

Right. Leaving someone on the list permanently accomplished nothing and may deny the Lister the benefit of important information. Are you seeking a solution to a problem (which will eventually go away) or are you extracting retribution?

Just a quick question. Does Plymouth still carry parts for the 'Cuda? Oops, never mind.

So? Card failure is NOT an issue with the camera.

Please pass that gem of information on to Tony Northrup.

You have hit the nail on the head. There are many people on UHH who have ridiculously myopic POVs based on rather amateur and pedantic positions. The measurement of it all is a mixture of a lot of parameters that not always easily understood to the layman. I've been at this professionally at a very high level for over 35 years and the kinds of banter I hear at this site is very basic and pro/sumer based. I wish the site could be bumped up a few notches like Luminouslandscape. It would be a much better forum.

I have an idea. Why don't you start your own section; call it "Bump Up" or something similar to go with your oft-boasted having "been at this professionally at a very high level for over 35 years". I promise not to corrupt your section with my "basic" views. After all, I don't have an MFA in photography and 35 years professional experienced; I've just been a poor amateur peasant struggling with photography for 65+ years. Therefore I'm not worthy of being in your presence.

Many years ago, I called General Motors because my late brother-in-law was having problems with the spark arrestor lever on his 1912 REO; those scoundrels have stopped supporting that model. I'm irate!

I'm sorry, Bill, but that's not always true. I don't know that much, but I still occasionally use the ignore function, primarily to block PM's. Anyone on my ignore list stays there a short time, because, in a short time, animosities are forgotten. And, to my recollection, there have never been more than two people on my list at any one time. I don't think there have been more than a half dozen total that have been ignored, but some people (one in particular) have been on the lint more than one time. I encouraged the implementation of such a list years ago, but only as a "cooling off" mechanism. If anyone has more than two or three members on their list or, if anybody is added to a list with the idea that the ban will be permanent, the list, in my opinion, is being misused. Some of the most obnoxious members of this forum are among the brightest. Why would I not take advantage of that?
