Many people tend to be "insurance poor." Yes, anything can happen at any time....but if you buy a quality/reliable product, chances are very good that insurance will not be needed. I NEVER buy insurance on a new item (often, at checkout). I don't know how much you paid for your insurance policy, but I'll bet that it would have covered your repair cost.

I have my iPhone set to not "ring or vibrate" whenever an incoming caller is not in my contact list. If it is an important legitemate caller, the caller can leave a message and I will decide whether to return their call or not. I still see the number of the call as a missed call, but am not bothered by it in any way.

I was lucky not to have gotten C***D during the initial outbreak. At the end of November, I got a monster case that went straight to my lungs. Yes I had had both shots plus a booster....but there I was going to the emergency room for help. Doctors were unsure whether I would make it. The IV dripped 24/7: antiv***ls, antibiotics, and who knows what else. I recovered and am fine now.

My point: Take this seriously. If you get sick, seek medical attention immediately.

Sometimes I see a lot of meanness on this site. People without understanding the economies of other members, throw out recommendations about buying like they are the ultimate authority on a subject, or right out boast like they think others are stupid for not buying the best on the market. Some people skimp whenever they can due to their financial situation. Obviously, you can't buy a generic Nikon, Canon, Sony, or Olympus body so while someone may have funds for that, they may need to skimp elsewhere. Someone in another post actually said they would not buy a non-OEM battery because it might be made in a foreign country! Guess what -- your OEM batteries are made in a foreign country! Other answers berate members for buying 3rd party items like battery grips. Hey, maybe they don't need the grip that can fall off a 100 ft. cliff and survive, maybe they just like a grip that affords a better hold when using the camera in a vertical orientation. Someone else said they would only buy HP cartridges -- I have an answer for that -- professional equipment like printers using eight or more cartridges notwithstanding, if you own a printer that you paid a couple of hundred dollars for, you didn't buy a printer, you bought into a very expensive ink program. Those lower-priced printers are so cheap because when you buy one, HP, Canon, or any others the manufacturer has you by the balls! You will be paying through the nose for your ink. Epson, and now Canon and HP have printers that use tanks which are easy to fill and cost a fraction of what cartridges do. Another possibility is that when it comes to batteries who knows who makes them? There may only be two plants in Japan/China/Taiwan that make all of them and just put different names on them. Look at the round head flash from Neewer, Bolt, and Godox they are all the same unit, just a name change. When someone asks for advice, it would be nice to see people respond with their recommendations and not put others down for things like not using OEM equipment. I would bet 75% of people here who act like people are stupid for not spending the extra bucks for a Nikon/Canon/Sony battery, use a flash that is not OEM. I work part-time at Sam's Club and I've had people tell me they would only buy Everyready Batteries over the store brand. Guess what -- they are the same battery! They don't understand marketing -- they can't believe Everyready would sell us batteries that would undercut the name brand. I explain that most big retailers will have an inhouse brand and Eveyready knows if they don't sell us a generic, someone else would! This way they get all the business. Ever see two gas stations owned by the same company across the street from each other -- it's about limiting competition. While I understand some of the group has the money to buy top-drawer on all their equipment, I think putting others down (and that is what you are doing when you state I would only buy xxx) is insensitive and is an opinion you should keep to yourselves. When I was 15, I worked in a manufacturing jewelry shop. We sold Rolex watches both 14 kt. and gold plated. They looked identical so one day I asked Mr. Hays (the owner) why anyone would spend 1200 or more for a Rolex when they could have an identical watch in gold plate for a third of the price. I said no one would know the difference. Mr. Hays looked me in the eye and said, "Oh, but the owner would know". That has stuck with me for the last 58 years and I have tried to live life in a way so as not to flaunt what I have but to just respect my good fortune when something good comes my way. So UHHers, lighten up. Respect each other, give recommendations when asked, and don't come down on others for their choices. (If you are wondering about the cheap prices for Rolex Watches -- while I worked at the jewelry shop the US went off the gold standard. One day gold was 37.00 an ounce, the next day it was like 387.00 an ounce!)

I totally agree: I hesitate to post anything on this site due to the blowback and negativism of some of our members. I keep a tablet beside my desk, and "tally off" those members whose comments tend to be abrasive or off-topic. Guess what....there is a pattern.

Hurry, before they're all gone. Just $24.48!

Many years ago my mom had pain in her neck and shoulders caused by a pinched nerve. The doctor recommended something similar to this, to relieve her pain. Instead of the hand handle, mom's had a large plastic bag, which could be filled with a measured amount of water, to act as a dead weight. The entire contraption would clip onto a door, the bag would hang, and the rope would run over a pulley and put an upward force on the neck/head. She used it several times a day....and eventually her pain was gone.

I just read this in the Boston Globe. An Army reservist shot and k**led eighteen people at a bowling alley and bar. Police in Maine knew he was unstable, but they didn't want to confront him. A fellow reservist contacted the police and told them that he had threatened to do a mass shooting. The police didn't want to "throw dynamite into a pool of gasoline," so they did nothing. "Reamer also voiced concern about the safety of law enforcement officers if they made further attempts to ensure Card did not pose a threat."

After all those people were k**led, the official report found that "the deputies acted appropriately 'under the totality of the circumstances.'"

"A crazy man says he's going to do a mass shooting. We don't want to confront him and make the situation worse. Let's wait and see what happens."

I am a responsible gun owner....one of the ones that fear that our 2nd Ammendment Rights may be taken away. This is not the first time that an "unstable" person has been pre-identified, later to go on to do a senseless shooting. I suspect the public will be in an uproar, asking for greater gun control. This is sad in so many ways. Properly stored firearms (locked gun safe) in the hands of responsible, trained adults, are not to blame.

I believe the answer to your question is qualitative at best. Do you consider weight, size, sharpness, FX/DX, reach, and/or weatherproofing to be of importance? If so, you need to do further research rather than ask for opinion. You may want to check some of the comparison reviews on such sites as dpreview.com, Fstoppers.com, LensTip.com, among others. Bench-test compaitive data is often a good place to start.

I've always believed that the lower the zoom's magnification power, the sharper the image. I put my faith in a 14-24 (1.7 power); 24-70 (2.9 power); 70-200 (2.85 power); and the 200-500 (2.5 power). These are several of Nikon's sharpest optics. Each lens has a fast fixed minimum aperture: f2.8, f2.8, f2.8, and f5.6 respectively.

A few years ago, "everyone" seemed to be going wild over the 18-200 (11 power) with an aperture range f3.5 - f5.6, as the finest walkabout lens since sliced bread. I drank the Kool-Aid and bought both a Nikon and Sigma copy. Yes, the zoom range was convenient, but my images lacked the kind of quality that one seeks in exemplars. Both are gathering dust somewhere in my closet.

The 80-400 (5 power) with variable maximum aperture of f4.5 - f5.6...which means that the maximum aperture of the lens varies as you zoom. It seems, try as one might, when you ask a lens to do more range, the image suffers. It is very difficult to design and build an optic to be so flexible. This may be the case with the 80-400.

So, before you ask for user opinions, you might consider gathering and interpreting some real test data from unbiased sources. Just a thought.

I shoot with a Bronica GS-1 (6x7cm) so this reply may or may not be helpful.

First observation: I don't find a sharp focal point in any of your images. I would expect sharper images from a Hassy with Zeiss lens. This could be camera vibration, improper scanning, or lens problem. Try using a tripod and get your shutter speed up above 1/100 sec. Take a few test shots focusing critically on a single stationary object. With age, the "felt" around your focus screen may need replacing, so that the focus is accurate.

Second Observation: Two of your images seem to lack the "light leak," while the others have differences in the location and appearance of the leak. The shots with the bands running down the sides, might be a light leak before (or after) the film was in your camera. With 120 film, always load/unload film in a shaded area, and KEEP the paper pulled tight or light can leak between the spool and the paper...causing uneven streaks down the sides. The shot with the flare near the top, might be lens flare. Check the lighproof seal around your film back (and dark slide if you have one) and replace if necessary.

Third Observation: Your exposures varied widely. Use a hand-held lightmeter or download a free lightmeter app for your cell phone, and shoot manual exposure based on measured values. Even the "Sunny Sixteen" rule will get you close in most cases.

You might also want to try a different photoprocessing shop, just to see if the quality changes. I use the "Darkroom dot com" or Indie Photo lab. Both do an outstanding job with 120 film and scans.

Good luck. Don't give up. Make it an experiment...focus on one issue at a time in a controlled and thoughtful way.

Sounds like maybe you didn't turn "mirroring" on in your Mac???
Under the Apple/System Preferences/Displays... you need to set the main display as "whatever your monitor is" and drag the images of Mac screen and Monitor screen together. This will allow the image to transfer to your monitor.

Also, check which input connector type is recommended for your monitor. You can buy different cables at (Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy) with connection ends for USB-C to HDMI, Mini Display screen, etc.

Hope this helps
