Hope this works. I took a screen shot of the Open As screen from Adobe CC. Should work the same in Elements

Cool! Wasn't sure if you used P-Matix or not. Bottom line, it's a great image!

To Travesty (and to Jamers who "liked" your response), I apologize if my post came off as offensive. Yes, I meant it as a compliment ( I figured my "Thanks in Advance" indicated that). I like what you did with the original image and was curious as to how you achieved the result. Many people who post their images state upfront what their techniques are and what gear they use. I'm not sure what "hijacking your post" means. If you're referring to my adding pics, I apologize again. Not sure how to delete a post, but if I figure it out, I'll remove my previous post.

Greetings Randy. May I be so forward as to ask what effects you used on the tractor? I ask because I also love to take pictures of ordinary subjects and then try to make something of them. My "go-to" filters lately have been NIK silver effects and/or Topaz Adj v.5. I also love to play with Redfield's Fractalius.

Thanks in advance!!!

I've attached an example of one of my before/after efforts.

Works very well with my desktoip monitor. Does NOT work well with my laptop screen. Made it very green.

I have found this method to be pretty quick. Open your RAW files in Windows Explorer. Highlight all the files you wish to convert. Drag them in the PS. When the files appear in ACR, select Save As from the bottom. Set you preferences (i.e., save as .JPG) and off you go. If you're doing a whole lot, walk away from your computer for a while.

It was really just a matter of asking permission from both the band and the venue. Fortunately, both agreed. Might not happen every time.

Greeting everyone. I'm starting this topic to discuss concert photography. I'm a bit new to this area and I want to share some pics I took at a few recent concerts. I was fortunate enough to have an all-access pass to Steve Hackett in Ridgefield CT, and Albany NY. Here is a link to what I feel are the best images. Please feel free to offer criticism (or show me some love!). Thanks in advance. Link to my flickr set:

Very nice, King! Shooting the "works" is challenging indeed.

Here are a few that I took this past 4th. As we just happened upon a display, I was not totally prepared. I prefer to use a gimbal head and cable release, but I had neither, so I had to really scramble to get these.

Greetings everyone. I'm kinda new to UHH, so forgive any newbie blunders. I'm also new to IR photography, so I'm going to inflict some of my recent pics with the hopes of soliciting some constructive feedback.

Some background: All pics are shot with a Canon 5D MII, using an inexpensive filter. Using a filter requires longer shutter speeds (sometimes as long as 30 seconds), so getting sharp images is nearly impossible.

I start with RAW images, then do an initial adjustment in ACR using a DNG profile that I've created for my camera. Then it's into CS6 for more PP'ing (usually channel swapping).

That said (already too much), here are a few pics.

TIA!!!

Not OCD at all. It's not a matter of "if" the hard drive fails. It's a matter of "when". Very smart to have redundant redundancy.

I use a hardened steel L-Bracket (RRS) on my MkII. I'm pretty comfortable using the tripod socket on the bracket, but most of my work is done from a tripod anyhoo, so....

A good friend of mine shoots horse shows for a living. His rule of thumb is that the shutter speed should be 3x that of the focal length. So if you're shooting with a 200mm lens, your SS should be at least 1/800 second. Use Shutter Priority with your speed set to 1/800, set your aperture at 5.6 or less (unless you really want DOF), and adjust your ISO accordingly.

Hope this helps!

FWIW, I recently got one for my 5D MII and one for my GF's 50D. They came from different sources. Mine works like a champ and cost around $35 (no brand stated on the box; came from China via California, so fast shipping). The one for the 50D does not work well. It's an Opteka and only cost $20. You get what you pay for.

Greetings everyone. I found this site through our local camera club (Housatonic Camera Club, Salisbury Ct.). My main interest is landscapes and still lifes (lives?), but I am also interested in live concert photography, and I need LOTS of help here.

My kit consists of the following:
Canon 5D MII
Canon 50D
Canon 10D (can't seem to let go of this one!)
Sony NEX 5R (new and fun)
Canon 24-70
Canon 24-105
Canon 70-200

And a ton of accessories too numerous to mention.

Glad I found this site and I look forward to interacting with everyone!
