Terrible photos, but absolute proof of global warming.
This is not a wind chill chart.
Stepped out to get the mail.
My dog liked it.
Excellent idea bobfitz. Great place for some learning experiences.
1. Clean each slide with the blower & brush you would use to .
clean your camera lens.
2. For mold & mildew, use PEC-12 Photographic Emulsion Cleaner (Google it.) I use a Q-tip very carefully.
3. Scan, I use an Epson V600 and have had good results.
Lots of advice on Google on how to do this.
This is an example of a scanned slide from the early 70's.
Scanned slide, no PP
-16f here in northern Lower Michigan. Whiteout conditions at times. Couldn't be better. Just don't try to lick your car. Don't know why you would, but since I mentioned it, I know someone will try.
Here's a challenge to exercise your creativity. I know you all lean that way or you wouldn't be here on the Hog.
My son posted to me, "Pictures lie, and can't lie.
I replied, "You know you're right. Yet, they can stand on their own, with help."
He posted back, "They can't talk, but speak for themselves."
OK. You guys take it from there. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas & after, to all of you on the Hog, from our house to yours. Took me 4 hours to clear a path from the road to the house. Worth every minute to live here.

The V600 works good for me. However, I've found that some of the old slides I thought were really good, turned out to be slightly out of focus.
Make sure slide is super clean of dust & or mold & keep the scanner glass clean.
I think as far as recognizing a "WOW" moment goes, it's like one of the old Supreme Court justices said about pornography."I don't know exactly how to define it, but I know it when I see it."
As far as making those "WOW" moments, Practice, Practice, Practice. As someone above has said, "You need to know your equipment and be prepared." And personally I would go with the three "Cs"; Composition, Contrast, & Color. (I'm including B & W as colors.
I believe you're right, Bret. Many examples like this in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Nice bracket. It really looks heavy duty.
Very nice. Don't think I've ever seen a two story depot before this.
Sorry for the double post.
I like the picture & the message. Looks like you're clinging to your guns & religion. Good on ya'.
I agree with Bill. Look real close at your UV filter from different angles. In different conditions, lighting/humidity etc. it's probably showing lines where the lens cap has touched the filter.
