I used to be a Pentax SLR fan but at the days end I had a stoop.I went small & love the Sony DSCT range. Good res, lots of bells & whistles & fits in the shirt pocket. Always ready for that 'Kodak Moment'. About to upgrade to latest model ??
Happy hunting.

I've had quite a lot of success with Picassa[Googles freeby].
I have PSE8 but haven't learned how to drive it yet. Picassa is easy to use but time consuming. PSE probably does more but i've yet to discover. I'm into family history & old pic's. Scan with Cannon MP970 & edit with mainly Picassa.Great fun!!

In the past I tried ink refills but the quality seemed to be inferior to the genuine. But there is quite a bit of it here in Australia. Refill businesses that is.

My MP970 Scans slides & 35MM strips in both pos & neg. I can scan docs & print them. I can scan pic's too etc & it does a pretty good job. It has 5 cartridges. Individuals which can be replaced singularly. $25 aud a pop. It floats my boat.

I had a sony DSCT100 & it went on the blink. ccd block was the problem. Sony Aust said it would be too costly to fix. "Buy a new camera". That riled me so on a trip to Bali I took it to their local Sony dealer & asked for a quote. It cost $80 aud & has been great ever since. [3-4 years] They quoted $90 to have a look at it in Aust & non refundable. Good product but service not respected here in Aust.

I have 1000s also from my past travels.I bought a Canon MP970 scan/copy /printer because it had scan slides capability. Yes it is time consuming & yes a big %age were ditched but with a high res scan, I now have them dig'd. It does 5 at a time & also does 35mm strips either neg or pos. About $400 aust at the time but I use it for all my photo work.I still have the slides until I go to the next stage of life. [the end]. Then the kids will probably dump them. Great memories tho'.
