It is always a pleasure to view your work Micki, thanks. I hope all is well with you!

Wow this is good! Definitely where the crawly things live. Wonderful light and the sharpness only a lens of this quality can give. I am embarrassed at how underused my macro is. Once again you push me my friend, thanks!

Phil, was this a trial for sheep dogs. This one sure does have a loooong tongue. Excellent set showing of this working dog.

Greg

Thanks Greg! It was a trial and the last for this season. There will be more next year.

I hope your dog is doubly rewarded, as a shepherd and a model.

Nice work on both your parts.

Great shots of dogs doing what they love to do! Sheep dogs are a lot of fun to watch.

Fun indeed, I could watch them all day....and I do when I can make it to local trials. Thank you for visit and comment Rose42.

My brother and I were raised with/by one (Buster) at Ft Peck, Montana eighty plus years ago. No sheep so he herded us. My mother told me he would shoulder us away from roads, grip the seat of our diapers/pants to keep us from climbing and just generally babysit. He was a great dog. Our Dad built him a dog house but he wouldn't use it, slept in the snow. He would burrow into a snowbank.

Thanks for the comment Bill. They definitely have their own minds!

An excellent action series, and the star of the show appears to have earned his kibble!

Thanks Randy! One of these hot dogs, after finishing her trial, rewarded herself by jumping straight into a water trough.

And what a tongue! lol These dogs are amazing. Beautiful action shots of this brilliant pooch at work, Phil!

Not sure if it four or five different dogs here, their marking are so similar that it is often only the collar that helps me sort them out. I probably should have thrown in a brown and white for variety. One thing for sure they all have one common characteristic hanging out! Thanks for the visit and kind comment Donna.

I am 92 years old, in hospice care for terminal cancer and I still enjoy life. I can still sit on my front and back porches and shoot pictures of whatever wild life comes around. My hands are still as steady as they were 50 years ago...good because I have no tripod. I have only the beginners pp program that came with my camera so I only shoot jpegs and sometimes touch them up a little bit and do a lot of cropping. I want to show you a few bird shots I took last evening just before sunset. The light kept changing so I used manual with auto ISO....something I learned from you hedgehogs. You will have to excuse the bird poop on the wall ( some one is bound to mention it) because I have no tool to get rid of it. My daughter washes it off about once a week...probably tomorrow. So here goes! (Sony RX10IV)

This is a well done set and makes me want to see much more of this wonderful view from your porches, in all kinds of light! I shoot a lot of birds and I am jealous of your quail shots. I honor the spirit you have expressed here. Please continue to share more of the beauty you see.

Great action series, Phil! That is a hard working dog and very dedicated!

Thanks Carol! When you watch them at work you can certainly call them dedicated. When you live in the same household with one, and you don't have any sheep, your might call them obsessed. Always good to hear from you.
