[quote=gemlenz]Well after much debate in my mind, and discussion with my consultant (my wife) I have pulled the trigger on a new Canon 5D Mark III from B&H. It also comes with over $400 in extras. It's due to arrive next week.

Congratulations. I have followed your posts with respect to the purchase of the new camera. The steps you went through will serve a a guide for those of us who have the same issue. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing your process.

Apparently you can go to the Canon website and register a product by entering in any fictitious serial number and date to register a product. I just did it and got an email back thanking me for registering! I didn't go through all the screens just the first one. I entered 123412341234 as a serial number and July 15th 2015 as a purchase date. I was trying to verify an Ebay seller's serial number for a product. I found this interesting. Seems like Canon would check the number against their database before accepting the registration. I hope I don't get in trouble...:(

That answers my question. So much for that idea.

I wonder what would happen if you took the serial number ad tried to register it at the "Canonusa.com" site. I tried to take a serial number of a camera I have and changed one digit and it told me that the number was not an authorized serial number. Just a thought.

Any ideas for one that is easy to use, won't break the bank and yields good results?

Ellen..I would try out Picasa, it is a Google product and best of all its free. It will provide you with some training before you invest any money. Go to Google.com and then onto Picasa. I use it most of the time and it provides me with excellent results. Its not on the same order as Photoshop, but it doesn't cost anything either. Good luck.

I must be the only one on the planet that loses his little windows 10 icon every time I restart my computer. The only way I can get it back is to install the windows update again. I think I'll just let it go and see what happens in a couple of weeks.

You definitely chose the right time of day to capture the monument. By the way, if you're ever in DC on the Fourth of July, the best vantage point of all is bout 50 yards NE of where you were standing to shoot this photo.

This has been sold

I have a Canon T6S, purchased April 15, 2015 and a Sigma 18-250MM F/3.5-6.3 DC OS MACRO lens purchased on June 3, 2015. I am selling this kit because I want to upgrade. The shutter count on the camera is estimated to be 300 actuations. They have not developed the software yet to capture the shutter count.

I have tested this camera extensively and have not found the sensor to have any imperfections.

I will provide the invoices for warranty purposes.

The camera has had a protective screen over the two LCD screens since purchase. The Sigma lens has had a UV filter on it since purchase. I will provide the buyer with a Lexar Professional SDHC 8 GB 400x Speed memory card.

I have all the original packing, 2 Canon batteries, charger, unused Canon strap, cables, documents and CD’s that came with the camera.

Your attention is invited to read the following for current reviews and pricing:

A review of the Sigma lens is also included:

I am asking $900 for the camera and lens. Buyer pays shipping. I can take Paypal.

It's been awhile now that the 7D II has been out. I'd like to hear what the 7D owners who purchased the 7D II have to say the real difference is between the two in your opinion, and do you think the cost of the 7D II is worth the upgrade?

Love your hat!!

Mike, I couldn't find anything using the UHH Search tool or just Googling the name "K&M Camera". There is ample positive info regarding "KEH Camera" (Smyrna, GA) and "Cameta Camera" (Amityville, NY). Where did you see the name K&M Camera?

What product are you interested in purchasing? Besides Cameta, B&H Photo and Adorama Photo, both located in NYC, have excellent reputations.

I was just going through Canon's list of authorized dealers and I saw this company in NYC. I hadn't heard of them before. I am considering a new Canon 5DS. thanks for your reply.

You should take the lens that you could pawn for the most money.
