Not these two boys and their aunt - they'll think it's hilarious.

Those three managed to keep their tongues out for an amazing length of time. I gave up the quest.

The hummers were fairly cooperative yesterday as were a few goldfinches. All these were taken with 400mm lens at f4 at 1/1600 sec to 1/2500sec and ISO 320 to 800. Early morning sunrise till 8:30 am. These were taken from a blind, it has been so hot lately I tried working outside the blind but the birds did not want to play that way!

American Goldfinch - male (Spinus tristis)
W. Kentucky, USA - 7/14/2018
1/200 sec - f/8.0 - ISO 800

Interesting Tidbit: The male is unlike any other finch in North America; the Wilsons warbler
is the only other bright yellow species with a black cap, but it does not have the finch-like bill
or the bold wing pattern of the American. ~National Geographic~

Enjoy a few photos of Colorado taken during a recent trip last May. I'll be gone a few days, so won't be around to reply to any comments, but will check back next Monday. But in the meantime till I get home, thanks for viewing and commenting. These all taken in the Estes Park (Rocky Mountain National Park) area. Have a good weekend everyone...

No, of course you didn't offend any Canadians! I don't think we feel any particular ownership of these geese. I know people are always complaining about them, but all geese make a mess. So do pidgeons and seagulls but unlike some on this blog, I don't wish them any harm.@

Thank you for further confirmation but I do now understand they are Greylag Geese - my apologies if I have unintentionally offended any Canadian folk.

That's a shame that you feel that way. I rather like them myself!

You are so right DebAnn, and I sympathize with you and your fellow Canadians for having them so identified and having to put up with their over populated flocks as we do.

They haven't migrated for many years. Wherever there is a bit of green grass showing is where they stay. From Newfoundland to Miami and everywhere in between.

I'm not sure where there place of origin is, but I wish these foul fowls would just disappear.

Particularly like the female shot. I think the male shot could benefit from a slight rotation to the right.
