I read recently that, when shooting action sports, that it's best to turn off the image stabilization as it adds to the focus time.
Is this true?
Thanks,

Bill

PD,

Thanks again for the info. I'm overdue for the new stuff and glad to hear you're happy with your NEX-7.

Thanks for the link. I actually watched the whole video and am sold on Sony and this camera.
Thanks to you, I will also be out over $3000 for the body and two Tamron lenses plus an adapter for my Zeiss lenses.
Any G2 on whether Tamron will release a Di III version of their 18-270 and 10-24mm for the NEX?

I am an advanced amateur and sometimes do pro shoots for clients, but have been borrowing Canon equipment from a good friend. Before digital, I had been lugging around heavy bodies and Zeiss lenses for many years and was about to buy a Panasonic 4/3 system when the Sony NEX7 hit the street.
Does anyone have any information on whether the 4/3 format or aps format will be the best choice for the future for "prosumer" use and would there be a significant difference in image quality between the two?
Thanks,

Bill

Probably about 1,500. Right now I have about 800, all taken with an 8MP camera, but I'm going to buy a 24MP camera soon.

Thanks,

I am using an iMac with Aperature 3 and have maxed out my ibackup drive probably because of my photo files. In order to free up backup space, is it advisable to download these files to an offsite location like SmugMug or another site?
Thanks,

Bill

I picked up a Russell Lee b/w book on Pietown while doing a 1,000 mile photo trek in New Mexico but was not aware he did color. Nothing like the look of old Kodachrome though. NM is still a great place to shoot, particularly the old towns in the central area.
Have you seen any of Ansel Adams color photos?

Thanks for the post.

I must be totally lame, but I still can't retrieve my messages under My Topics or My Posts. Where are the replies?

Thanks again,

Bill

I have tried everything to retrieve replies to my questions (active topics, my posts, etc.) and still can't access them.
If anyone knows how to do this, please walk me through it.

Thanks,

Bill

I noticed you have a Tamron 18-270 for your Sony.
Are you happy with the lens, even at 270? I am pretty picky about lenses and would appreciate your opinion.

Thank you,

I recently took a photo for use in an advertisement. The printer said when he converted my RGB file to CYMK that the red looked pink so he had to underexpose the shot to get the correct, fully saturated color.

Any ideas on how handle this problem in the future? I am using Aperature 3.

Thank you,

Bill
