That's funny - what a great record. Glad the camera is still usable.

On this one, I like the fact that we can see the group is walking down the road. They were coming from the bride's house to the nearby church in a seaside village - all about the scenery.

Once the pole is removed, I think you need to crop in closer. Your subject is the group. The background is inconsequential.

Thank you for your in-depth reply - much appreciated. I do need to hone my Photoshop skills. Would it be too much to ask you for a downloadable file?

Your image is worthy of extra work given its special moment that it captures, of a wedding party with the bride. They will all cherish this image.

To begin, you must accept that more one way exists to skin a cat. So others will present their editing methods.

My editing included the Patch Tool, the Selection Tool, the Spot Healing Brush Tool, and the Clone Stamp Tool (in its Lighten, Darken, and Normal modes).

I got rid of the other pole (because a distraction) using the Spot Healing Brush Tool. This part was the easiest. One only has to set the brush size and then drag it over the object, to erase and blend it in one motion.

Note that I also used the Transform Tool in Adobe Camera Raw to right the image before removing the poles. It rotated slightly clockwise.

Note as well that I named the tools I used but without going into a lot of detail which would take paragraphs. I suggest you go to Adobe online for its tutorials showing how to use its various tools. You will thank yourself.

Now is the time for you to apply yourself to learn the powerful editing tools that Photoshop offers. When using a tool, work on a new layer, so if need be you could simply delete that layer with its changes. Bear in mind that you can reverse edits also with the History tool.

Please see my edited version of your image. It is not perfect but very close, just to illustrate the improvement possible in a short time. I also took the liberty of using the Levels Adjustment tool in Photoshop to adjust the black and white points and to brighten the midtones a little for a better exposure.

RANT: I end with a final note that the skin tones of the ladies appear reddish and orangish. Adjusting skin tones for a natural look involves other adjustments that I skipped here.

In my experience I've found that photographers add so-called warmth to skin tones for a healthy look.

On the contrary, I believe they avoid careful adjustment of skin tones because of the time-consuming difficulty of achieving this outcome.
The pros want to finish their work pronto so they may submit their invoice for pay. In turn, others following them have copied this unnatural look of skin tones.

Good luck in your efforts to learn photo-editing for better results.

I'm hoping one of you expert post processors can help me remove the pole in this photo - right next to the girl's arm. I have removed the many wires that were attached to it using Photoshop but I'm not skilled enough to get this the pole. Any help would be much appreciated.

Because you have been chosen by the bride and groom to photograph their wedding, I have to assume that you are a competent photographer. So, make sure all your equipment is in good condition and that you have a back-up camera and a variety of lenses. Also ensure you have a first class flash in case it's needed. Then get a list of the photos the B&G want and the people who need to be shot in groups, etc. Then visit the wedding venues and the surrounding location so you can decide on where you will pose people. If it's in a church, visit the minister to find out what you can and can't do during the ceremony. If you don't know how to achieve certain effects, do a lot of research now and practice, practice, practice.

Shot from a location along Arbuckle Creek which runs between Lake Arbuckle and Lake Istokpoga here in central Florida. I was given the keys to this wonderful retreat to work on for a total of 4 months in my spare time. Halfway through my time here I'm finding it harder to get my work accomplished as I have so much wilderness around me. I have found a local pair of the Barred owls that still let this seasons chick come and go through their territory. Here's a few of the images Ive captured in the last month. I'm spending most all weekends there now.. My own house to do list will just have to wait... Most all shot under heavy shade in the morning or towards the evening. A little noisy as I'm still using my D7200 DX camera,(I never repaired the D600 a 2nd time). Got good news from Adorama yesterday as the D850 has been shipped. Can't wait to try out it's ISO's capabilities here......

It's true that when we read a piece of text we are so familiar with the words that we can understand what's written if the first and last letters are correct. However, that definitely does not mean that correct spelling doesn't matter. I'm a writer and sloppy spelling drives me nuts!
