welcome and you asked the wrong question, 46% of the board says Canon the other 1/2 says Nikon and then there are a few Fuji etc. I can tell you which camera to buy, seek out a friend with a canon or Nikon, look at their camera, ask them if they will teach you and then buy the same brand and model as your friend. You'll learn so much faster with someone that can help you. If you know nothing about cameras ( as I do) the manual will seem like a foreign language to you. So a friends help is GREAT.

Welcome Steph, I have a batman car in the neighborhood. The guy takes it out once in a while. I would love to get to shoot that some day.

As for taking notes, I shoot the same pic with different app and shutter and iso settings. I may shoot the same thing 20 times, taking notes of such things as where the sun is and if its cloudy etc. Then I head to the computer and upload my pics and then make notes on which pics were the best. helps me learn a LOT about what settings to use in different lighting situations.
Now Im beginning to get to the point that I actually may have an idea of what Im doing. ( almost)

To me it looks like the tree is in focus, there has been a lot of advice and I learn by reading all the great info.
So I'll just say did u use a tripod? I also think I read if the ISO is too high you'll start to get the softening effect as in the photo. Thats all I know about that. I will know more tomorrow though.

Moire is a repetitive pattern that appears in photographs many times like a psychedelic pic from the 60's . caused in my case by bricks in a building. kind of hard for me to explain Im sure others will explain much better. this link will take you to some pics of Moire. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=moire+patterns+images&qpvt=moire+patterns+images&FORM=IGRE

I have elements 12, and I have a few pics with moire patterns. Cool if it was 1960 but not so great today.
Can I remove moire with elements 12? if so how, Ive searched the site but no info about elements. I spent a lot of time looking on line but no definitive answer: Thanks

Im still learning but the first thing I thought of was white balance. with the wrong settings you will get the blue some times.

I love the shots but what I really like is you taking the time to tell us how you set up your camera . That helps us beginners a LOT. Thanks
