This was on my patio last year.

Delicate beauty. roadsideron. Even as nice as it is, I think it might be a tad better cropped more and darkened.

These two are the only horses on this property. The two adjacent properties are Arabian & Haflinger studs, & this mare often rubs noses with them over the fence.

Marvelous images, Dook! Not a flaw in your capture - great composition, pleasing lighting and tack-sharp focus plus great subject!

Hi there, yes it is me, Mary. I know it has been forever since I have even posted anything. But I am working at an animal hospital now and them doctors work you to death. Ask Randy!
But I have added a new baby to my mix. His name is Blaine. I was at work and he had just been neutered. I fell in love at first sight. He was with Planned Pet Hood. So I adopted him. He is such a sweet kitten. He was just over 3 pounds went I got him on the 10th of February. He now weights closer to 7 pounds. Remmington.... for the ones who know him is not very fond of him. But Blaine feels the same way. But if you going to live here at this house you must get along. Or you will be tied outside to a tree!

Blaine is simply charming, camshy! And one photogenic puddy cat. It may take some time, but almost before you know it, Rem will snuggle up with Blaine and become bosum buddies.

big birds. This Roseate Spoonbill is the first one I encountered in the wild. What a thrill! This is a juvenile. It still has feathers on its head and it is a paler shade of pink.

Excellent capture of the Roseate Spoonbill, Carol. A pleasing image of this big bird.

Recently, I attended a Nikon day at a zoo. I have been looking over my shots and have decided on several as noteworthy. This is my first time posting my own images, and I have lots of them. Here goes and wish me luck.

The last two pictures, not from a zoo, are what I call Mr. Lucky. I think the reason is captured in the photos

Splendid captures of your zoo trip, Dalek! Those marvelous big cats steal the show. Fortunate escape by Mr. Lucky.

Portrait of Dennis, a fellow student on a Coventry Adult Education photography course. Last evening I entered it in the annual Digital Projected Images competition of the Jaguar Photographic Society. Won the portraits section and was also judged overall winner in all sections against 120+ other entries, all of very high quality. No cigar (or Jaguar car), just the kudos! Dennis was quite pleased as well!

A masterpiece, Tony! Congratulations!!

The location where this was taken will be undergoing major changes this year and next, and it's questionable whether the owls will return next winter. The state department of fish and wildlife, which manages the site, has elected to breach the levees that keep this meadow relatively dry, and allow it to return to a tidal salt marsh. The levees were built in the 1930s and have been leaking and slowly failing for the last 10 years or so, and the state has apparently decided it's cheaper to breach them and let the meadow flood than to repair the levees and preserve this habitat. The local tribes have supported the idea, claiming the change will help local salmon (the "salmon card" trumps everything else, it seems), though I don't know of any salmon species that lives or spawns in salt marshes... In any case, the state plans to bring in heavy equipment this summer to dig some "tidal channels"; in the process, the habitat for the meadow voles which the owls feed on will be severely damaged or destroyed. As a result, the owls may only return in limited numbers next winter, or they may not bother at all. The summer after this one - 2018 - the WDFW will breach the levees, and the entire area will be flooded at high tide, exposing only mud flats and salt water vegetation at low tide. Safe bet the owls will not return at all after that. With those changes in mind, here's one last portrait of one of the Leque Island short-eared owls...

Your wait was rewarded with these very dramatic shots. Dave! Remarkable capture of action. Wish I could give you a blue-ribbon for these flawless images.

Amazing images of this beautiful owl. Lady Luck was with you--between that and your skill, you came up with a blue ribbon winner, Frank.

Thank you. I had always wanted to see Chihuly in person and not just pix. It was spectacular.

Several years ago Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids sponsored exhibits of Chihuly Glass Art. They were displayed inside and throughout the grounds and
photography was allowed. If I can find some of my pictures in my archives, I will post a few.

when you go out for a walk. I went to a local park this morning just to get some air on a beautiful day. One camera, one lens - I didn't expect to find a lot. I was greeted by one of the resident squirrels, watched a large group of Coots diving for brunch, encountered a couple of wildflowers and to top it all off, an Anhinga decided to spread his wings and show off for me. I hope you enjoy.
