My suggestion is to practice manual focus on stars before you go. I use live view 10x and make the star as small as possible, then go to a dimmer star and repeat sometimes several times. A 24mm lens should get to 20" without trails. Go as wide as your lens allows and still maintains acceptable to you corner sharpness. I would start at 800 iso and experiment a lot! It's free! I also like to set up my composition in daylight. Star reflections in the lake are cool. Have fun!
Excellent job as always, composition, timing, exposure, technique spot on. Or to put it another way, another gem from Regis. I hope to get a chance to try this sometime.
Very nice pics of a very nice and I'm sure emotional memorial. You look very proud of your son, My, what a big lad! 110 flights in all that gear! Congrats to them!
Fwiw, I agree with you. And yes there are some trolls and argumentative types, but they are greatly outnumbered by some very nice, helpfull people who just don't shout as loud. Good thread.
When I see them like this at my house it's because they did a header into a window. They're usually OK after a few minutes. Doesn't explainn the blood though.
