We are headed out to Southern Utah and North Rim of Grand canyon in a coupl e of weeks. Probably be in the Antelope Canyon area around 8/19. Is this a good time to grab one of the photography tours? Will the light still be good? Also, which lens would you use, Tokina 11-16 or Tamron 18-270?

Probably the widest lens is best. Most places you can touch both sides of the canyon with out stretched arms. The bottom of the canyon is 20+ feet deep and the only light bounces two or three times before getting down to you. I often used two legs of the tripod and leaned it into one of the walls. It is an incredible place, best light is middle of day as more gets down to you. Happy shooting!

.... and I'm NOT talking about the bullet! This was the kidney stone I passed not long ago. MY 7th so far.... and the largest to date - a little over 6 mm! It was right at the breaking point as being too big to pass and requiring surgery. Thankfully, I didn't have to go under the knife.

For those who are fortunate enough to never have been plagued by one of these, I can only say.... "You have NO friggin' idea how lucky you are!"

I have a very high pain tolerance, but these little SOB's will bring you to your knees!

I knew a nurse who had a breech baby and she said the kidney stone she had was far worse than the backward delivery!

Yep.... it's THAT bad! Whew.... I hope to hell I NEVER have another one like the one in the photo!

Went to ER with one a few hours ago, on pain meds now to try and get things relaxed and pass it. Yes, the pain will put you down.

Where I grew up in Wyoming, we didn't have a key to our house and always left keys in cars and trucks.

It is easy to take the bottom cover off the film cameras, and then you can decide how well the tripod socket is attached and how robust it is.

Other locations are Sunset Crater National Park, Wapatki National Monument, Montazuma;s well and castle, Jerome(old mining town), Schnebly Hill Road and Red Rock Crossing via School Boy Road.
