My point exactly, but then I like "story" images. (This one is THAT and an outstanding example of precision image capture). Thank You.

...I've been to a couple presentations by different "experts" and have found the above to be very true.

Well, coming from the perspective of a highway bridge designer all I can say about the whole concept is, "VERY impressive".

Very impressive! Noticed the designation,"Tri Drive" on the fourth photo - means there are three (extra?) sets of driven wheels? Also wonder if theses trucks are allowed into densely populated areas, etc. Thank you for posting.

Saw one being used many years ago on a driveway project. It was a good size for use in a city neighborhood. The large wheels on either side of the power plant controlled the height and vertical angle of the blade. The horizontal blade angle was adjusted by bolting it onto the frame.

You've packed plenty of info into your post, must have been around USGS many years.
We have slight quakes here in the DFW area of Texas, felt a small "bump" just a day or so ago. Those are blamed on Fracking - what do you think?

Thank you for the photos.  This guy showed up on our balcony rail a couple days go, so its a pigeon.  He was evidently exhausted because of breathing heavily for about 20 minutes.  Other birds land there but stay only a few seconds, most of the time I am not fast enough to get a photo. Wonder what the band is for? We thought he must have escaped from a cage and not in shape to fly much.
