Has anyone had any experience with Digital Depot? They have a Canon 2ti for $219, about half price of others and I am suspect. What memory card is best? Also, I saw a flip up screen protector on this site, but don't remember the vendor if anyone knows?

Thanks

Nicely done because you've accomplished what HDR is meant to do: render a similar tonal range to what you actually observed. Did you use Nik software for the conversion?
Thanks,

Bill

Had some doubts about quality issues and filters with lens hoods, but I guess they have been resolved?

Thanks,

Would like to know if anyone has a Fujifilm X series camera (particularly the X10) and whether it compares favorably with quality SLRs and lenses.

I couldn't agree with you more. My good friend has two first rate Canon bodies, five Canon lenses and their best strobe but doesn't know how to use half of their capabilities. The gear weighs about 20 pounds. Frankly, I can shoot circles around him with my pocket camera.
I'm ready to upgrade to a reconditioned Rebel body and 15-85 mm lens and a book on how to use that specific camera.
If you want to get more out of your photography, read Scott Kelby's Digital Photography books, all four of them. I've been into photography both as an amateur and professionally for my business for 40 years and learned many new things from these books.

Good shooting.

Thank you, that's very useful information. With a non-Canon lens on your camera, are you able to get focus confirmation? Do you also need to focus wide open and then stop down to the taking aperture with resultant loss of light in the viewfinder?

Thanks, Victoria. Wasn't aware Canon made a zoom in that range or about the new ES lens. I'll probably wait until that comes out to make a final decision.

Thanks, I was thinking of that also but would like to see a comparison with the Canon 18-200.

After careful analysis, I am thinking of buying a Canon Rebel 550D, Tokina AT-X 11-16 mm lens and either a Tamron 18-200 or Canon 18-200 and wonder if this would be a good choice for an advanced amateur shooting primarily vacation and landscape subjects?
Also, I have two Contax/Zeiss lenses (50mm and 25mm) and wonder whether it would be worthwhile trying to use these with a converter considering the tradeoffs of using a converter?

For whatever it's worth, I prefer #2 because of the soft pastel look of this version and the clean blues. The other shot looks like it's manipulated and I think it lacks the peaceful feeling of #2.
