Great shot. I wish you had clicked 'save original' so I could download it to get a closer look.

I was looking at tripods in my local camera store recently. I was looking for something between my light travel tripod and my hulking 30 year old 'parking lot' tripod. I was all gung-ho to go for a carbon fiber model (partly for the weight and i suppose partly because they seem to be the 'in' thing). The sales manager advised that carbon fiber is not as robust as aluminum. He cautioned me that CF tripods shouldn't be left in a hot car for long periods - I leave my tripod in the car all the time. Also that they can become brittle in cold weather. I figured he must be reasonably honest since it was going to result in a smaller sale for him.

Correct, but the view is digital, not optical.

I think all of you have been had! Regie Boy posted the question and you have spent 3 pages talking to yourselves, because Regie Boy has never replied or acknowledged anything.

LOL.

I think you are right, but that probably won't stop the discussion. It could go on for another three pages.

I think "reflex" refers to the prism in the camera which allowed the viewer to look directly through the lens.
Sony made that type at one time. Today Sony has EVF's which do not use a direct lens view.

The EVF is a direct lens view. The EVF image comes from the sensor which is what the lens directs the image on to - without some flipping mirror in the way.

I second the Peak Design. The Slide is a very comfortable strap and they have interchangeable 'cuff' and 'clutch' models. The little anchors stay on the camera and you can change the strap in seconds.
I got the 'Slide' for my A7Rii. It is very comfortable, but takes up a bit too much room in my bag. I got the narrower 'Slide Lite' model last week and I think it is all I need. If you are interested in the full size 'Slide' model drop me a line by PM.

I like both of them. B&W is great on download. I would try lightening it a little just to see if it improves it - maybe not.

How awesome would this picture have been if I had my shutter speed set correctly!! Taken at the National Bison Range with a Nikon D5300, Tamron 150-600 mm - F9 at 600 mm but alas Shutter - 1/13 wt??? how could I have missed that!! Oh well...it was still fun to watch him!

Actually, I like the first one. OK, its not sharp, but try taking it in a different direction.

Labor Day is passed, Summer is gone, but still plenty of life and color in the evening in Provincetown, MA at the tip of Cape Cod.

Enjoy the pics, but best come to experience in person. Anybody who knows the Cape will tell you Fall is the nicest time to visit - and cranberry harvest is coming soon.

I have to admit I've never heard of a focus shifter attachment. Sony has an app that does focus stacking in camera. It takes three shots while shifting the focus between each and then stacks them in camera. I have only experimented with it for a couple of macro shots. It meets my focus shifting needs.

Don't knock Sony......! Their whole range is good.

They came into the camera business late.....so started without all the middle aged crap telling them what they 'should do'. So they didn't.....and that makes the difference.

have fun

Sony may not have been involved in the film era, but they have been pioneers in electronic / digital photography for decades. Remember those old Mavica cameras of the 80's and 90's?
