So glad the feelings came through on the hat picture. I was with my dad checking out an old barn and he hung his hat up there. I was thinking about him getting older and slowing down. I took it from several different angles and distances but this one just felt right. Thanks!

Thank you Andy. I'll make sure I have on my big girl drawers. I realize this is internet and Trolls will be Trolls. Not looking for a pat on the head but real feedback on how I can improve. Ultimately, art is subjective and not everyone will agree but it does feel good to get a little affirmation I am on the right track and maybe have a little talent.

I will soon be 58 years old. I had taken a basic B&W photography class in college many years ago but never pursued it beyond that other than normal family photos of vacations etc with a point and shoot. A year and a half ago my wife gave me a Canon Rebel T6 for Christmas and I fell in love. I have scoured the internet for information and tutorials on anything regarding photography from basic theory to the best editing software. I am so excited when I can get out to shoot even if its just practice exercises. Why I didn't pursue this all those years ago I just don't know. The one thing I feel I am lacking is honest feedback from a knowledgeable, honest source. I am hoping I can find that here as well as inspiration and a non judgmental place to ask questions.
