Thanks Stevenelson. I agree with you that photos taken in the early morning and late evening do have something extra. However, these were taken around midday when I was in the garden. "Harsh light" I am not so sure about, much of the light was filtered through the foliage. I'm limited by the openingt hours of the garden. But they're still snaps.
I don't mind negarive comments, that's the way we learn. That's why I asked if they had any photographic merit. There was never meant to be any story though. I agree with you. They're just snaps.
Anyone care to critique this one. It hasd a slightlyt odd history that I will recount if anyone's interested.
CLEANING THE WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL, LOS ANGELES
Thanks Nikofan. Actually I like the frog best of all.
Maybe, but it's curious that so many people look and don't bother to make any comment, but maybe they're just not interested. I do know what you mean though. Some time ago I posted a shot that I was particularly interested in receiving critique. I got about 350 views and not one comment. No, it's not my first post.
Mmmmmm, quite a few views and only one reply. I think that's telling me something. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. Sorry about the lighting but it was all 100% natural, no digital enchancement. Actually I was taking a shot of the lotus leaves and wasn't aware of the presence of the frog until afterwards but he gave the title to the photo.
I paid a visit to my local botanical garden and took a few shots. There is one that I like and I wonder if anyone agrees with me.

I think that the focus is on the path and it's winter so it's supposed to look cold.
I agree. Like this more or less.
Rules a made to be broken! Great shot.
I am a total non-geek, I don't know how to use Photoshop and for editing photos I use a programme that came with my Canon printer: Arcsoft Photo Editing Software. I am so non-geek that I don't even know how to use the layers function. The resolution in your photo wasn't great but but here's my take on the task which just goes to prove that even idiots can sometime improve things. Not as good at the Photoshop edit but......:
PS: It took me about 5 minutes
As always your shots are fantasic. Congratulations.
Pretty cat but then with few exceptions most cats are pretty photogenic. This one belongs to a friend of mine and she asked me to quite literally snap her one moment. Not a perfect shot by any means and it's here totally unedited.

The plural of photo is photos. The apostrophe is superflous
By the way, the plural of crowd is crowds. The apotrophe is superflous.
I have mentioned it on a couple of occasions when I have posted photos here. I am not a professional photographer, not even a particularly good amateur and most of my photography is done when I am travelling and I don't carry a tripod with me, not even one of those ultra small ones. On a recent round the world trip I was constrained by luggage weight so I had to cut down drastically on what I packed. So, the attached shot was taken about one and a half blocks away from the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. It was taken with a Panasonic TZ7 using the full 12X zoom and hand held of course.
Now you can take it that I have said it was hand held as an excuse for a not technically perfect photo. On the other hand, you can also take it that it is not always 100% necessary to have a tripod with you. Some good shots can be achieved if you have a steady enough hand.
