Do these have any PHOTOGRAPHIC merit?
I paid a visit to my local botanical garden and took a few shots. There is one that I like and I wonder if anyone agrees with me.
BAMBOO
FROG AMONG THE LOTUS
ENTRANCE TO ¨LA CONCEPCIÓN"
STEPS
I think they all look good. I wish the lighting was a little better on the frog though. I like the "entrance" the best. Nice job.
Mmmmmm, quite a few views and only one reply. I think that's telling me something. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. Sorry about the lighting but it was all 100% natural, no digital enchancement. Actually I was taking a shot of the lotus leaves and wasn't aware of the presence of the frog until afterwards but he gave the title to the photo.

I don't know that you can determine anything by the number of views. It seems I always get like 500 views and 5 replies or something to that effect. Is this your first post?
Maybe, but it's curious that so many people look and don't bother to make any comment, but maybe they're just not interested. I do know what you mean though. Some time ago I posted a shot that I was particularly interested in receiving critique. I got about 350 views and not one comment. No, it's not my first post.
Thanks Nikofan. Actually I like the frog best of all.

When I looked at them I was unimpressed...hesitated making a negative comment! There is no story that I can see, although they are nice snapshots. :-(
I don't mind negarive comments, that's the way we learn. That's why I asked if they had any photographic merit. There was never meant to be any story though. I agree with you. They're just snaps.
Anyone care to critique this one. It hasd a slightlyt odd history that I will recount if anyone's interested.
CLEANING THE WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL, LOS ANGELES
Ok, I will do a reveiw. All though I am not a pro. This is what I see. All pictures where taken in very harsh light. Very bright spots in them. For better pictures try taking them early in the morning or late in the evening. I think you would be impressed by the results. P.S. If you can loose the fence.
Thanks Stevenelson. I agree with you that photos taken in the early morning and late evening do have something extra. However, these were taken around midday when I was in the garden. "Harsh light" I am not so sure about, much of the light was filtered through the foliage. I'm limited by the openingt hours of the garden. But they're still snaps.
I did not even notice the frog for that bright leaf. Sorry.

Please tell us about the odd history!
OK...I'm one who passed by without commenting and I'll tell you why.
Many times when commenting, I do so because a shot it "almost there" for me but it needs a tweak here or there or something.
But other times when I see a shot that's (in my opinion) just a snap shot with poor lighting poor composition, and poor crop and colors, I just don't bother...it would take a large paragraph or two and I'll figure that someone or many someones will get the message across...
That's why I pass by....I just don't have the energy sometimes.
I had beren visiting the Walt Disney Concert Hall and when I came out I walked with some friends to find some lunch. We had walked about two blocks and I turned aroujnd and saw the Concert Hall from an angle that one doesn't usually see and I whipped out my camera and quite literally took a fast, hand held snap using the full X 12 zoom. Unfortunatly I hadn't noticed that the dial on the camera had turned to a setting one uses for taking low quality shots of things like maps or noticeboards etc. In spite of that I was surprised at the quality. You can even see the reflection of the two men in the metal surface of the building. I liked the compositon also.
