I too have a d700. I enjoy it. I think I am going to do as you said- wait for the next tried, proven Nikon d900. I will also consider waiting for the next Canon 5D Mark IV.

I am from Torrance California. Just NORTH of you. How are things in CA. I moved to Alabama not too long ago. I really miss CA. My family still lives there. Brought the wife and kids to AL. Major climate change.
