Your trivia question for today

I know you are all very smart folks but here’s a question you should definitely know the answer to just incase someone asks you.

“Do chickens wear or have they ever worn glasses”?

For the answer Google,

“have chickens ever worn glasses”

No thanks necessary just passing along this useful bit of information.

No more meaningless than the verbal flatulence and crap Hillary and other Liberals are spewing.

Thanks for all the suggestions but I got Act! working again and since I know how the program works I guess I'll stay with it until the next problem with it.

The K Organizer program looks like it will do what I need it to do but I have had no luck figuring out how to download it. Saw a couple downloads but they didn't specifically say K Organizer so I was reluctant to download. Any suggestions?

I use RGS Cardmaster (free) for an address book with names, addresses, and phone numbers. It can print mail labels too. RGS can export its data to a cvs file which can be imported into Xcel or any program that can use the cvs file. I also use K Organizer (KOrg - free) for an organizer, to-do, calendar, appointment reminder program. Both are free and work well. Have a GREAT DAY!

Suggestions on an inexpensive Database please

I’ve had it with Act!. Great program when it is running properly but every time I change something it seems like there is a problem. I recently changed my monitor to a higher resolution and bingo Act! is screwed up. Everything else on the computer seems to work OK.

I need an inexpensive program that will keep names and addresses, perhaps a note section and a calendar that reminds you when an appointment is due or something. That’s about all I need it to do. Since I’m retired I don’t need all the bells and whistles that come with Act!. I refuse to pay the money Act! wants to update the program so I can receive help to straighten it out.

Anyone using a program that fits that description?

Well since you didn't answer my question I guess you did not serve. Also maybe you were not a very good student in school. As I remember when talking about or writing about the civil war there is a lot of references to the North and South. Making reference to the North in Vietnam to anybody who served there usually means the Viet Cong supporters not so much a geographic location.

Just curious. You used the term WE. Did you serve in Vietnam?

North, south, east or west. But what the hell were WE doing there except using up material so the the military-industrial complex could enrich themselves on the lives of service people. That whole country posed no threat to us for gods sake.

OK, I have no facts to back this up but this was what I was told by a Vietnamese lady in Vietnam back in 1964 or 65 . She said when the French occupied VN they were bad about raping the women at will. Chewing Beetle Nut as well as having some pain killing properties for the gums and teeth also blackened the teeth. The French couldn’t stand their blackened teeth and so the women started chewing it to blacken their teeth and not get raped. When I think about it now it was mostly older women and Mountain Yards that I saw with the blackened teeth. Probably they had lived through the French era. Today it is probably more used by older women as a pain medication for teeth problems? And, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Did you ever hear the story or explanation for the women using beetle nut?
