Willie Dixon, composer, double bass player and patron saint of Chicago blues. Koko Taylor called him the boss of the writers.

Willie Dixon wrote a large portion of the classic Chicago repertoire.

Thanks to everyone who posted some of their treasures! I agree that if we could put them all together in a museum somewhere, we'd have a popular destination site. However, I wouldn't want anyone to part with their antiques, so set them out & enjoy them!

It's been fun looking at all the posts and remembering so many of the items! Again, thanks to Bushido for getting the Challenge up & going Monday early!

Dane will have the next Challenge for us-"Sunny F/16 Camera Presets".

Beautiful. I would so love to play those violins! Love the wood, the design and graceful beauty. You play bass?

Cheers Pat, I play guitar and bass, almost the same instrument, and fiddle and mandolin, again almost the same instrument.

I love that big lump of red iron as well!

I'm enjoying all the photos.

You can't have antiques without the odd fake.

1st up is a Papua New Guinea flute circa 1920

2&3, a wall cabinet I made to look like the work of a native carver and a Chinese carpenter, Port Moresby 1920

4 is a homemade marionette - I'd be guessing

5 a Kumalae Uke circa 1920 and a copy made by my mate's father after he wore out the Kumalae
