Montmorency Falls at Quebec. Architecture at both Toronto and Quebec, but especially in Quebec's Old City. When my wife and I took a river cruise from N.Y.C. to Quebec via the Erie Canal a couple of years ago we booked local private guides using toursbylocals.com so that we would be getting their local knowledge as neither one of us knew anything about the area. It made things completely in our control and flexible as we were the only ones being guided (instead of herded in a bus or group tour). We went in late October and saw very little Fall color until we reached Toronto.

It is becoming a more common practice since the Equifax breach. I have had a similar experience dealing with my insurance company's online pharmacy.

I have had good luck with blurb.com. In my experience, you have to make the pictures slightly more saturated than you would if you were printing them yourself and then remember to check the "Do not adjust" box.

Agreed. My hands are partially paralyzed and I have almost 0 sense of touch. I need to see what I am doing. Auto has allowed me to continue with my photography hobby.

Just returned from 2 weeks traveling the North Cascades Loop. The scenery was fantastic and the fall colors near their peak. The contrast between the east and west sides of the range was night and day. The slopes and valleys of the western side were lush; eastern side, in the rain shadow of the Cascades, dry and arid. The best color was along US20. If you want to try this trip you had better do so soon as the highway, US 20, is closed every winter due to the huge amount of snow. Alternatively, there is the Olympic Peninsula. There are beach and coastal vistas and the rain forests in Olympic National Park. If you get lucky in the valleys of the ark, you may get lucky and see an enormous herd of Olympic (or Roosevelt, they are the same thing) elk.

I have used both San Disk and Lexar CF and SD cards for the last 22 years and none has ever failed for me. I would be glad to act as an agent, purchasing cards for anyone who is willing to pay for the service. :-)

There are a couple of considerations that no one has mentioned. First, is the card too big? There may be a seemingly arbitrary limit set by the camera manufacturer. For example, the mfr. may have set a limit of 32G. If you are using a 64G card, only 32G of it will be used. Second, have you tried to isolate the problem? I would download all of the images from the card and then, without reformatting or erasing any data, try to write ordinary files using my computer. If that fails, the problem is the card. If it succeeds, it may be the camera that is at fault. One more test to try would be to take a newly formatted card, copy the files downloaded to your computer and try to take additional pictures using that card. If that fails, it would make the camera an even stronger suspect. If it succeeds, then your old card may still be good but in need of a reformatting. Whether to do so and trust it or replace it is your choice. I would err on the conservative side and do the latter.

Guess I need a new Rx for glasses. Maybe a few stem cells injected into the brain, too. Does anyone know where I can get cells?

"... Precision can matter, just this morning i was reading about a student that was allowed to bring in a 3 by 5 cheat sheet. This they did, 3 feet by 5 feet...." That reminds me of a professor I once had. At 19, he had completed all of the requirements for his PhD except for the language exam. He failed in his first two tries. For his third, he passed with flying colors, although his professor thought that the colors were those of the Jolly Roger. He was allowed to have a word list; however, it was not specified that the list be in alphabetic order. His list consisted of a page by page translation of the books that had been selected for him. Needless to say, the rules changed immediately after he passed the exam.

Not a heron that is to be found in "The Audubon Encyclopedia of North American Birds". The bill, legs and feet are not at all heron-like. In fact, they all look like something in the duck family. Where was this bird seen?

Constructive criticism is still criticism. The difference is not so big after all.

The Cambridge Dictionary defines photo as a word unto itself. Using photo's as a contraction is ambiguous as it could be for photojournalism, photosynthesis or any other noun beginning with photo. If you want clear meaning use photos as the plural for photo.
