Thanks. After a few hours of going thru the camera from A to Z, its very impressive and has a LOT of new useful features I wasn't even aware of having owned the SX10 and not the SX30. Burst mode ( EIGHT frames per second at FULL resolution ) blew me away ! Awesome feature.

Be well and shoot better ;)

Nobody ever asked Hemmingway what kind of typewriter he used.

I own the SX 10 and absolutely love it. Everyone keeps telling me the sensor is too small, but I'm getting great 16x20 prints from it. These cameras are great for learning basics and can be run completely on manual control if someone wants to do so.

It's good to know that some special offers are for real. Thanks for the tip.

I have a Canon SX10 which does everything I want. However my buy-up friends keep pushing me to a "real" DSLR with a bigger sensor. Question: Does anybody know how my current sensor compares in size to what I would get on a Canon t3i or Nikon D5100? I can't believe that what I am currently using is as small as a pocket point 'n shoot as some are telling me.

Can someone tell me how to calculate the actual magnification power of a lens? Example: A Nikon 55-300 with a crop factor of 1.5 or a Canon 55-250 with a crop factor of 1.6. I know how to do the basic math and realize that 1.5 x 300 = 450 mm. What I don't know is how much magnification a 450 equivalent provides. Point & shoot cameras are big on saying "10 x zoom" etc. How does that work with a DSLR?

I was headed out tomorrow to buy a D5100. Are you telling me that I can't make giant prints? I can already go 16x20 with my 10 mpx Canon SX10.

Hurry with some answers as the Nikon sale ends this week.

Great shots! This would make great letterhead stationery for a music teacher.

This needs to be part of a $20 2012 calendar being sold in stores. Way to go!

I have had 99+% good experiences with eBay and Craigslist. i would expect photogs to be even more circumspect and honest.

A wise old sage in the camera store said, "Nobody ever asked Hemingway what kind of typewriter he used." Don't forget that you are interested in the product, not the machine. In the long run it is the person holding the camera who makes all the difference.

I have the Canon SX10 which must be quite similar. Have you worked your way through the menu system and set the focus options? I use the center focus as default and have seldom been unhappy. If you are really unhappy with your camera, let me know. Perhaps we can make a purchase deal.
