I love my 7100, mine came with the 18-104mm lens, have a 28-300mm zoom and just got a 55mm prime, that seems to fit my needs nicely. Though I am sure I will be buying more glass for the 7100, as time goes on and more disposable cash gets accumulated. The 7100 should last you a long time. It does everything and more that I have ever wanted. Though I must admit that even though I probably do not need one, fx full frame shooting peaks my interest. good luck with your choice and hope to see your shots. Terry

That is right across the street from where I live, pretty nice place to stay. Thanks for the comment

I have seen that fence in Paia. And a couple others around Maui. I am envious of your locale. Been to Maui many many times and always stay at Kihei Beach Resort as it is central to where we go. Makawao is my favorite town. Oh, very nice shot!

Here is a shot I like a lot. It is a fence made up of old surfboards in Paia town here on Maui. I worked it a little to bring up the colors. I shot this with my Nikon 7100, 18 to 105mm lens at 35mm. f/5.6, I/125, iso 200. what do you think, my thoughts are maybe I should have bracketed and made an hdr shot.

Here is a image I took of one of the first Humpback Whales to arrive this year. I used my Nikon 7100, With a 70 to 300mm lens set at 300mm, 1/1250 sec; f/5.6; ISO 200, for some reason even though the sky was overcast the 7100 seems to make the water color darker than it is, I am wondering if I need to shoot at a different setting to bring out a truer water tint. I did crop this shot to bring the tail more into view. What do you think?.

Yes that is what I am wondering also, as the main subject is the truck though the clouds over Haleakala give sort of an ominous mood to the shot. Thanks for the comment

My thoughts are a little less sky and maybe bring the truck in closer since it is the subject here. Just my two cents. Nice photo tho.

That would be nice to see, yeah that's what I like also, the clouds stand out a bit to much maybe but that is what they looked like that day. It kind of added a mood to the shot though

Hi Terry, I took your shot and played with it a little. I brightened it , added contrast and definition. And brought up the colors some. But I like a picture that pops a little more than most.:) I will post it if you would like to see it.:)

Thank you I pass by this truck everyday and thought it might be a good subject. I am not sure what I can do different though maybe a different point of view might have helped.

This is a shot of an old truck in a field with mount Haleakela Volcano in the background. What do you think, should I have edited this shot, or shot it differently?. I am interested in your thoughts. I used my Cano t3i an 18 to 55 mm lens at 55mm, iso 100, f/8, at 1/100, Thanks for checking it out any comments welcome. Terry

Thanks Hal I'm getting better though had a bit of damage as my head is always cloudy now and I do forget things, I go over to Tripler Army Hospital on Oahu next month to prepare for a second hip replacement the first went bad 4 months after it was put in in California so the Vets are going to fix it by putting in a whole new one I have a little more faith in the military doctors over the private sector, so have a good attitude towards getting it done, I have been busy as I am going to a regular photography school and not the New York institute certificate. That way I will come out with another associates degree and with my other degree will probably go on to take the couple extra classes for a B/A. I think that's a better path for me than just a quick certificate as I may be able to put it to use getting some work and maybe intern with one of the local legends. I will try and put a couple recent shots up soon as there are a couple I really like and would like to see what you folks think of them, as always hope you all have a fantastic weekend

It is accredited I am not sure if you receive a certificate or an aa degree it looks like a good course but through the mail and internet with teachers grading work, not a bad price if its a good course, I was a photographer in the intelligence division of the navy in Viet nam but film is seeming quite different to digital with both having a use. just need to get acclimated with the differences in digital seems like it will be fun
