Just a guess on my part but it may not be carrying the camera and lens for excursions that's the issue but carrying the camera, assorted lenses, flash, filters, tripods, and laptop to board the ship, on the flight to get to the departure city etc. If you can cut down to the bare essentials carrying a DSLR with 28-300 shouldn't be a burden.

I've had good friendly service from B&H. They are open on Sundays (check their hours). I would call customer service and ask what happened. It's much more comforting than an email response. I'm sure it will be resolved to your satisfaction.

It's very disconcerting when you don't receive what you ordered in a single shipment because it's happened to me numerous times from Amazon and some other vendors (not B&H). It gets fixed pretty quick but I do understand your concern.

Best of luck-keep us posted- have a great vacation.

I have no insider info, but I think the major camera makers will add articulated touchscreens for nearly every camera available. It's better to have a feature that you don't use but can stay nicely tucked away than to buy a camera for fast AF, shutter speed, and omg sensor but it doesn't have a nice flip screen for when you want to shoot video.

I have an articulated touch LCD. I nearly never use LiveView but do use the touch screen for scrolling through playback and to get through the menu much faster than the buttons. I did just buy and installed a really nice screen protector because I detest scratches. I also hate finger prints on my camera, phone, and laptop but I have clean "microfiber" wipes stashed everywhere (right along side my required drugstore cheaters).

My cruise package has been reduced to my (almost new, bought it on my last cruise) Canon SX60 HS, chargers, flash, cleaning stuff, a card for each day and a Dell notebook (for backup), all in one bag ...

I think Bob S is right, and depending on the size and weight of the Dell notebook I might use a small iPad or tablet for backup instead. Take care of your back - it needs to last a lifetime.

Congrats on the new lens. A good word from a happy customer really helps brick and mortar camera stores!

True. But in NM if there's not a store front here they can't collect tax yet, but they did cut a deal with Amazon. I can still buy from B&H and Adorama without being fleeced by the governor.

I think it's for all orders in New Mexico. But I heard Amazon is doing that in several states. Hopefully PA isn't one of them yet.

Got a notice yesterday from Amazon for a 6D ii pre-order. Geez, can't research without that far-left clown Bezos snooping on my Canon usa or Google searches. I'm boycotting Amazon for awhile, especially since they now charge me sales tax on any orders. B&H or Adorama only!
