Twin reflex here I was spoiled.. Had to develop film at the high school lab. All black and white. Had to learn how to roll the film neg on the roller in pitch black, and add all the chemicals until the negatives were developed. THEN.. We could turn on the RED light

the fully manual camera of today.
1 only one apature.
2 only one shutter speed.
3 only one iso.
now get out there and show me what you can do.

my first camea was a kodak brownie bullseye, it had one shutter speed, two apatures, two film speeds and a flash. my only limit was action shots.
I even shot a wedding next to the pro I was go foring for.. he used a few on my shots.

No worries! Use it as you see fit! I Paid good money for mine also, it does damn well on AUTO (P) setting as does yours! I just like to get the harder shots that are more complex, especially in shadows and such or back lit. Nice thing about digital? I took 294 photos today and didn't have to develop film. Out of those I have 7- maybe 8 keepers, but I'm shooting wildlife. It/They/that doesn't sit still. Another analogy - Buy a brand new car, lock it into 1st gear and get on the freeway at 80mph and see how far you get.. Mine only gets to 8000RPM before the computer shuts the car OFF!! Yeah I forgot to shift once! Not really but you get the idea. You hold in your hand more technology than Apollo 11 moon shot and it doesn't hurt to use it..!!

didn't realize this is 8 pages deep...The camera is just an object that captures light, same as binocular and your rifle scope, What it shows in that light is different for everyone! Nuff Said.. Learn how to use the tool in any mode...

I will probably start a range war here, but, I think the phrase "I don't like my camera making decisions for me" is so overused. I contend, unless you are shooting creatively, the camera is, in fact, making decisions for you. The purists always say, I shoot manual mode because I want to be in control of my camera. So, you set shutter speed, you set the aperture, you set the iso, but then, you check the exposure meter. If the little slider line is not in the middle (for proper exposure), you then adjust one or more of the three (shutter speed, aperture, iso) To get WHAT THE CAMERA SAYS is proper exposure. So, as I said, unless you are shooting for creative effects, and ignore the exposure meter on your camera, that camera is making decisions for you. What say you?

Exactly.. The camera is just a tool for the eyes! You can make it as dramatic as you want or so over cooked it looks fake-ish.. It's just a tool to control light! What gets captured is up to you!...Or me with mine.! There is no shame in using (P) mode when it gets the job done my friend.. We don't need anymore range wars!

Very well done. Any plastic/glass can be a challenge to get through without a filter of some sort sometimes! You nailed it.....

Still learning but I need to know how to size for clarity. One is 8X10 300dpi. The other is 4X6 300 dpi. I realize that 300 dpi is for prints. I want to know which one looks better on screen when I save (store original). All criticizing is accepted and duly noted. And my prints turn out Awesome...! Just wondering if there is a dramatic difference....Thanks all
