I wouldn't worry about whether or not the merchandise was stolen. It's the pawn shop's responsibility to research pawned merchandise to see if its stolen or not. The police investigate pawn shops on a regular basis. And if you do buy stolen merchandise from a pawn shop, the pawn shop's liable not you. I personally have bought some very good lenses from pawn shops. and I've gotten some very good deals. With the advent of cell phone cameras, pawn brokers don't move photo equipment very quickly.
I'm proud of you and everybody else who kick that habit. For thirty-five years I smoked two and a half packs of Marlboro Reds a day! I knew I was getting married soon and I didn't want to leave my new bride a widow at an early age. That was twenty-two years ago and I haven't had a cigarette since. With the price of cigarettes these days I couldn't afford it.
First off: I will never shoot a picture of a child under eighteen unless I have permission from the parent or guardian. and even then a parent has to be present at at the shoot or a responsible adult with the approval of the parents. All this is for obvious reasons. Now here's my dilemma. there is a skateboard park in my community where a lot of the local kids utilize. Most of the time there are at least a dozen kids out there. And I see some very good opportunities for some good action shots. And some of them I'd like to focus in on one participant. But again most of these kids range from ages twelve to seventeen. How can I take these shots without getting into trouble?
I use a Canon 7D. Not long ago I bought a Canon 6D Full Frame. (We all make mistakes). Anyhow. I learned very quickly that the only lenses that will fit on a 6d are EF-S lenses. Looking around for EF-S lenses be it KEH, Adorama, Amazon, or even ebay, Most of the lenses that I find are either 18-55mm or 70-250mm kit lenses. And I'm not prepared to spend over $1000 each for new lenses. Are there any adaptors out there that I can use? I welcome any ideas you might have.
Whenever I take raw photos they show up in my files as a blue and white Photoshop icon. I'm looking for codex software download so I can correct that. I'm operating on Windows 10. All the sites I see online are for older versions of windows. Does anybody know where I can find Canon Codex which is compatible with Windows 10?
I have a Canon EOS T2i and a Canon EOS XSi. I have several old M42 screw mount lenses. I have an M42 adaptor. (they are very inexpensive). And the work very well I get sharp, clear photos.
Thank you for your input.
I have a Canon T2i. When I'm shooting outdoors the flash keeps popping up. I thought this was only a nuisance until I traveled 250 miles to do a photo shoot only to find that many of my frames shot outdoors had excessive lens flare. Could this be because the flash was going off? And why does the flash keep popping up and what can I do about it?
There is money to be made with your camera in your local community. Check with car dealerships, Realtors, insurance companies, or any other local business that requires large volumes of photographs. You won't get rich but the work is out there.
When I got my first DSLR camera five years ago I exclusively used Picasa I look at those pix now and I'm ashamed of myself. I don't know if Picasa has improved over time. But when I used it the quality was as good as Microsoft photo. A very good free digital processing website is Gimp. Its free and you'll get quality results. However, it is very difficult to use. So, there will be a lot for trial and error, not to mention frustration.
I took this shot outside of Carlsbad Caverns National Park, New Mexico. This abandon stone structure I was told was a gift shop back in the early 50's. I took this shot using a Canon Rebel EOS T2i, using a Tamron 70-300 lens. Editing I did the background in sepia and layered the structure in black and white. Please give me some feed back
Here's why I sometimes bracket. If I shooting with unfamiliar lighting conditions, be it natural or artificial, I'll sometimes bracket. Or, if I don't know which lens is best for the subject. I'll bracket a few shots on different lenses to see which comes out best. And if I'm shooting fast motion shots, especially sporting events, bracketing is essential.
Does anybody out there know of any web posts that nationally posts openings for freelance photographers. Craigslist, you have to wade through the porn openings and local newspapers don't have anything. If anyone knows of any websites please post. thank you.
While recently traveling through the Texas Panhandle (from Lubbock to Clovis, NM) I did some rustic shots along the back roads with some interesting exposures and use of combined color and black and white.
