You did the right thing. If I had kids I would have done the same. That whole show was inappropiate for innocent eyes.

Those eyes aren't as innocent as you think. Disney has more intense scenes than anything shown during that halftime show.

I won't say what you all are who don't understand my original simple comment. The management wants this all to be civil. Since calling ME "weak brained" passed inspection several times,---I am free to call anybody not understanding that I know I have old browsers--the same. BUT THE OLD BROWSER ACCESSED EVERYTHING ON UHH UNTIL A WEEK AGO. Now only my updating browser called MYPAL is the only one of my five which can see right off the in line photos and the lineup of icons. Got it. Yes, my Mozilla Firefox--SeaMonkey, Opera, and UC Browsers are not updating. They read sites fine which do not have special merchandising security or special video condecs. Yes I got that. I don't need you all to inform me of that. The fact remains that changes have been made to the programing behind the UHH site. And the wise-acre who is the programmer---tell us what they did---if you can???-------- (And the remark---I have some DOS programs from the eighties and nineties---WAS UNCALLED FOR!---------

Condecs, do you mean codecs? Also what is special merchandising security? I know of SSL, which is basically the defacto encryption most sites use instead of unencrypted HTTP traffic.

Either update your outdated stuff or stop throwing random terms around. You have great advice on a longer term fix, if you don't like it, say thank you and move on. At the end of the day, it's still you and not the site devs.

I know Frank, but he just keeps holding his line and using bad terminology. This is more of a game now than informational I guess

Are you also weak brained?

I've been called worse. But I'm actually pretty versed in computers and network security. It's sort of my job.
OldSchool-WI wrote:
I said all that. I said that most have the last Flash or other scripting capabilities updated in their browsers.

That is absolutely not what you said, but it's ok, we can keep digressing, it's fun.

I use 32 bit programs and have no trouble with my computer. And a large part of the world still uses XP-Pro-SP3 as it was the first good thing to come out of Bill Gates.

And that "large" part of the world is highly susceptible to all sorts of malware and intrusions. But hey, you keep that honeypot open so they don't scan my networks.[/quote]

We actually use XP in a very controlled environment to teach security planners how easy it is to compromise a host to give them awareness that even they (not keyboard folks) can "be a hacker" on outdated systems.

If Bill Gates stopped supporting my browser in order to sell software to you on UHH---so be it. There is a site called "XP--forever" which is what I say, also. Same with cameras. Spend your money and it is not my concern.

Bill Gates hasn't been involved in the direction of Microsoft for many many years.

The fact remains there has been a change in the site software for UHH a little over a week ago. Do I have to repeat that another time---gosh, you are showing your age? Take a nap and have a good day.------

So now you are talking about software? I thought we were talking about website code (not scripting)? As far as I know even if they updated Apache (their web server software), it doesn't change the code (php, css, html) that displays the website on your browser.

So as I wrap this post up, all the problems revolve around you and your out of date web browsers, which is solely on you to update to supported operating systems to stay current.

I don't give a hoot about any counter to my remarks---the fact is my browsers worked with all the bells and whistle buttons on UHH and now only one of my five browsers is fully functional for this UHH forum. Got that now? You figure out what to call it or why. They changed the platform presentation without changing the appearance. I have to transfer the email link addresses to MYPAL if I want to see in line photos or place icons. I now simply use ++++ rather than the thumbs up icons which do not appear after the change to UHH. Whether it is a new version of Flash or what --is your problem, not mine. I just state the factual outcome and put it out for someone's response---which it seems has not happened?-------

They aren't using Flash on this website. In fact, Adobe stopped support for Flash December 31, 2020.

Assuming you are using Windows XP (MYPAL is an XP browser), most other browser companies stopped supporting XP back around 2018 (Firefox, June 2018). The browsers you are having issues with are not compatible with the most up-to-date coding standards. In this instance, "It's you, not them".

I don't care what you do or waste your time about----keep it to yourself. I am just stating the facts and if you have such a small mind as to not see that---I have said that MYPAL browser works even though UHH has changed scripting. And the moderator won't comment on their private methods of presenting UHH--rather they shifted the topic to non-photo as though it was none of the members' business. Maybe someone might ask then if UHH sells user data since they seem not to address the re-scripting? I am not saying they do---but when it is hush-hush about scripting---who knows what UHH does with your identities?--------

You haven't read what I have said. I am trying to help others in UHH who experience the change in UHH presentation. But I have already helped myself by changing my browser to MYPAL which reads the new scripting on UHH. Possibly others have had troubles as well. Maybe it would help your answers with relevance to the topic if you should "read the topic first?" I gave all the information needed for the statement that UHH rescripted the use of the in line photos and the "funny face icons" buttons. I must transfer addresses when they come in the UHH notifications to the MYPAL browser. Must I repeat all that once again for you?-----

I have read everything, and I keep telling you this mythical usage of the word "scripting" makes zero sense and the fact you are using outdated and/or subpar web browsers is probably more of the issue than blaming the site admins for allegedly changing any code on the website. LS and some others actually DO help forum members with technology related issues, you just compound them by driving a straight line using your own assumptions as gospel and discounting legitimate advice from folks who most likely are more knowledgeable on this subject.

But please keep repeating yourself, I have nothing better to do than entertain forum trolls today.

Such beautiful colors and great use of light. How much would the scene change if you moved up in front of those power lines?

Otherwise my only suggestion is to adopt me and take me out on your photo journey!

Those are all amazing! The colors in an rapidly changing sky are spot on. I was really drawn to #7 for the composition with that leading rock ledge and the creeping sunlight on the distant peaks. All over great work!

I totally agree with you it seems to me that we turn in to dark America, as what advertisers pushing for.

Turning to dark America? These were iconic hip-hop artists from the 90's performing iconic songs from that same decade coupled with the link to LA as they were all based out of there.

So if 30 years after these songs/artists were not only popular in just the hip-hop scene, but also in modern (for that time) pop culture, then we may have larger issues than just giving "them" 15 minutes of TV time during the Super Bowl.

I will say that the halftime show wasn't everyone's cup of tea, and there isn't a single halftime show that will speak to everyone's likes or interests. My peer group (who were teens/early twenties in the 90's) really had a blast revisiting some stuff we grew up with. Even if hip-hop isn't or wasn't our preferred genre of music.

I presume your Firefox is not my Firefox version. Maybe you should read the thread before making comments. I no doubt do not have your version. But the fact remains--UHH changed scripting. And maybe nobody in UHH uses the same browsers I use. But the scripting changed and nothing your comments say --make that different.

You keep saying "scripting" and the only scripting on the site is for google analytics and rendering the navigation buttons.

Believe it or not, LS actually is trying to help you out, but when we get vague issues compounded with very incorrect usage of technical vocabulary, more questions have to be asked to help. That is assuming you wanted help correcting the issue and not just to jump on to the forum and falsely blame your browsers' inadequacies on the site devs.
