I am very new to this site and I agree completely with your statements. I have appreciated the comments on my photos and the honesty, and so far, I have not experienced the rudeness that some have, I have learned that the things you are passionate about are the things that can cut the deepest and so comments can really cut you to the heart, so good comments to the right, bad comments you take what you can salvage give merit to what will benefit your work and put them on left and file 13 the rude remarks and forget them.

Driving the loop in the Nat'l Park

This is the GREATEST place to go.. Beautiful scenery. While we were there, we discovered a group of folks standing under a tree and of course had to see why they were there and as it turned out everyone was looking up at a moma bear and two cubs that were sleeping in the tree. Deer are all thru the park... Worth every second

I need help on this one ...I took this photo of the Key West light house a while back and as you can see while taking out the power lines I did some damage to the bottom of the palm tree on the left, is this beyond fixation or can this nice tree be saved? I don't want to crop the tree down...any tree surgeons out there?

Have you tried using the cloning tool to see if you can clean it up some? ( I would try to enlarge the area and then go in and use the cloning tool and try to clone in some of the colors that would match that area of the tree and the clouds in that area

I realize it shouldn't matter...but it would be wonderful if everyone could post a picture of themselves in their information page or as an avatar. It's so nice to put a face to a conversation. I've been receiving lots of wonderful Private Messages of encouragement and compliment, and as I go to the sender's information page, it's kind of disappointing to not be able to "see" who is sending the great messages.

Don't be shy. Show us who you are. Tell us a little bit about yourselves. Build some friendships and share! =)

I don't know much about adding objects, etc to photos so I thought I would try another one today. I had a glass paperweight of the world and used a hand made light box to shoot it and then I added the moon and the eagle. Please give me some suggestions.. They would be greatly appreciated ( I don't care if anyone alters or adds their own photos to show different techniques)

I like it..[don't do that myself-but like your imagination]..--joe

Thanks !

A couple of suggestions, although I really like the photo.

I would place the eagle a little to the right (or crop out some of the blue on the right) so that the bird leads one eye into the photo.

Even at the low magnification of the image as posted, I can see some artifacts left behind from incomplete masking of the individual components. They distract from the overall effect. There is no substitute for time spent compositing very clean images.

I will try your suggestions and see if I can't get the images better, thanks
