And, I have lots of Tundra Swans photos, but none of the Snow Geese! And, I know they are there... somewhere!! I plan to try again, soon...

For what it's worth, eBird shows that Dennis Smith reported 2500 Snow Geese vs. "only" 1000 Tundra Swans at Pungo-Pocosin just yesterday. Both sightings were at 549-1 Canal "D" Road.
Hope this helps in your quest!

We already seem to have our candidate.

We don't really have "our" candidates, do we?
What we have are the two Party's chosen candidates.
The people are basically being left out of the decision. So much for "democracy" and representation.
The option for the people to choose, on one hand, has largely been co-opted by the Democrat Party (much as they did in 2016 to Sanders), and on the other hand, thanks to the Republican front runner who is basically pulling a Joe Biden-like hiding routine.

Excellent photos. Where did you go to see the swans and search for the snow geese?

Maybe you should let more hard workers over the border.

Yes, I'll get right on that.

Hillary said “We will not build a wall, Instead we will build an economy where anybody who wants a good job can get a good job”. Was she talking about every i*****l a***n coming across the border Can also get a good job?

Meanwhile we have an economy where there are plenty of jobs but no one willing to take them.

Is anyone happy with what is going on down there and how can the Biden Administration defend their policies?

President Biden has visited the border many times during his presidency.

He is pleased to report that all is calm between the states of Maryland and Delaware.

Why has the f**e news these last few days been bending themselves into pretzels trying to say that Gay's plagiarism is no big deal?
HLN this morning was saying most college president's and professors commit plagiarism. And go on to say that plagiarism is a complex subject that only elite academics can comprehend.
Gay built her career on plagiarism and is where she is through plagiarism yet that is now OK and no big deal.

Gay's professional expertise happens to be DEI.
The unspoken underlying basis for DEI is an assumption that certain minorities are inferior and can never compete on a level playing field with certain other people. (This assumption of course is r****t, which is why it is unspoken, in order to avoid being called out.)
To admit that Gay created her massive portfolio (of what, 11 papers?), by relying on plagiarism, would be to admit - out loud - the unspoken basis for DEI.
And admit that Gay was, in fact, a DEI hire.
Death to meritocracy!

Careful! Morry's last link will let you download the manual. I just tried to download it, and I was offered something else. That's a common tactic, unfortunately.

Not sure how you tried to download that manual.

If you follow the link (that you cite from Morry's post) and click the green "Download" button at upper left, then click the "I'm not a robot" box and go through the reCAPTCHA verification process, then click the green "Get Manual" box, and finally you click the blue "Download PDF" (and not Save to Your Collection) you will indeed receive the entire 167 page manual as a PDF (and not be offered something else.)

I too have a Epson V600 Photo scanner that was generously given to me by a friend a few years ago. I have a few hundred kodachrome slides and some photos I would like to copy. But alas . . . I am old now (almost 90) with a faded memory and now lacking skills to do this. It is too bad that there is no simple to follow manual available to purchase that would help me out. The will is still there . . . but the skill and ability is not.

No need to purchase! You have at least two free options to get you started.

1. Here is a link to Epson's User Guide for your scanner:

https://files.support.epson.com/pdf/prv6ph/prv6phug.pdf

2. And here is a different but very easy to follow manual, with illustrations, at this link:

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1967200/Epson-Perfection-V600-Photo.html

This second manual includes a simple, illustrated step-by-step guide on how to scan slides, beginning at the bottom of this page:

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1967200/Epson-Perfection-V600-Photo.html?page=22#manual

Hopefully your friend provided the Epson Scan software and the Slide/Film holders along with the scanner itself.

I found some old negatives and am trying to scan them on my Epson V600. I cannot find a setting that will convert these into a B/W image (jpeg). The scanner either gives my an output that is a negative or an error message to remove everything from the scanning bed.
I would appreciate any help you could offer.
Thank you,

This assumes you are using the Epson Scan software that came with your scanner.
Set the mode to Professional Mode.
In the settings for Original, set Document Type to Film, and Film Type to B&W Negative Film.
The following settings are likely best for your purpose:
Set Image Type to 16-bit Grayscale, Scanning Quality to Best, and Resolution depending on how large you want your output images to be.
Hope this helps.

The interest in photography using a camera rather than a smart phone is clearly waning, slowly going the way of other once-popular hobbies such as ham radio, stamp collecting, home darkroom, coin collecting.

Is there a device that will scan your system to check for malicious software that got loaded during a trouble shooting process? If I want to remove any of that suspicious software, what is the best way to get rid of it to be sure my PC is corrupt free.
I took it to a PC support shop who did a "deep" cleaning of the system to remove any of the suspicious software. Cost me $199, and wonder if there was a cheaper way of restoring my PC without the fraudulent software?

I highly recommend Malwarebytes. It has a reputation for detecting malicious software that some antivirus programs miss. The free version of malwarebytes once rescued a PC of mine that had been rendered completely useless by malware. I was very impressed and immediately subscribed to the paid version, which I continue to use on a PC and on MacBook Pros several years later, along with antivirus programs.

If you consider CCleaner (for trivia aficionados, the "CC" stands for CrapCleaner, the program's original name), make sure to download it from the ccleaner.com website. CCleaner became so popular that it was actually hacked and turned into malware twice (in 2017 and 2019).
