I wish there was more green in the lower right corner, but space was limited to get this shot

My previous post of this image appeared as though it was badly processed in nuclear waste. I hope this looks better. If I recall, it was taken early one morning in the spring just outside of Pullman, though it could also be Colfax.

The composition is even better in download—foreshortened foreground.

The large foreground was my attempt at showing its isolation in the countryside.

Ok... I'll repost this image. Rather than process it in a nuclear reactor, I'll just use Photoshop Elements.

From the greens, my first thought was Fujicolor, however, it turns out you are using a Panasonic. Seems to be a slight green tint in the sky. Any chance your green channel saturation is set a bit high? (Usually I find most sensors push the red channel)... I know, picky, picky. Just saying. Excellent shot - great subject, composition is great (smacks of 5/8 somehow). I actually like it a lot. Stay well and keep on sharing the great work.

Dang! That looks gross. It certainly didn't look like that on my pc monitor! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Just outside of Pullman, Washington, I came across this old barn last spring.

Very tranquil. Was there also a house to go with the windmill and barn?

Yes, but it was completely out of character for the barn.

The B&W seems to fit the atmosphere.

Nicely done! I like Silver Efex Pro as well. It can really make a so-so color photo pop when converted. However, in this case, you loose the feeling and appearance of aged wood that can only be seen in color. Plus, the yellow algae on the roof stringers is not recognizable for what it is. But, be that as it may, you did a nice job of maintaining a wide range of tones and the feeling of a long lost time. Thank you for your efforts. Ken

I really like your shot. It's tack-sharp, and I like the textures of the grass, the home, and the clouds. It occurred to me that it would look good in black and white, so I imported it into Silver Efex. I think that worked well, but I won't post it without your permission.

Please do!

Somewhere between Davenport and Wilbur Washington, and south of US-2 I found this scene.

After roaming the countryside searching for abandoned barns and homesteads, I came across this old house far, far, south of Wilbur, Washington. Wish the walls could talk. Ken

No comment needed. Just a pretty country around Wilbur, Washington converted to a high contrast b&W.

Located north of Davenport, Washington. Even though the wheat harvest is in, it's still and amazing countryside.
