Jack, I've never even held a 60 or an 80, but I've read a lot about both. I thought the 60 was a great camera when it came out, even if it lacked AF micro adjust which is now standard on most any camera including the 80.
All that said, if you use the 80 to its fullest, it will literally stomp the living daylights out of a 60!!
The 80!has the newest Canon tech currently available, from the processor, AF capability to the Video. There is no way to compare what an 80 can do compared to the 2 generations old 60. And if you can, just keep the 60 because you won't need what the 80 is offering.
Yes, I know that it's very popular to say that what matters is the monkey holding the camera, but every new camera that's come out has enabled me to take my game up one more notch and the monkey is definately the same.
If your waiting, waiting, waiting, you probably don't really need it!! ;-)

I hear you and as you know I value your opinion but still the topic was a request to hear from 80 users.
A blanket statement like there is no way to compare is well..a blanket statement and below your usual good advice.
Doubling down with you wont need and don't really need, make me wonder what happened to you.
As for really needing it, I am an amateur don't really need any camera but still have this incurable disease called CAS or Canon Acquisition Syndrome.
