For my 80D I use an app that is available from eosmsg.com. Apparently some of the "newer" Canons have firmware that cannot be read by many of the solutions mentioned above. But I don't worry about shutter count. If the shutter fails it will give me justification to take a proposal to my "financial manager". She would most certainly approve the purchase otherwise I would just hang around the house and be in her way.
I have dealt with MPB.com twice in recent months and have been pleased with both transactions. I traded some equipment to purchase a previously enjoyed Tamron 18-400mm. Then after confirming I could live with the Tamron I sold them the lens it replaced. The Tamron was rated as being in "very good" condition but was way better than that. It came in the original box with all the documention. Literally could not tell it had ever been out of the box.
The built in photo app in Windows 10 may be all you need. It does not catalog but takes care of basic editing and enhancement. You would need to take care of the cataloging and organizing. I use Affinity Photo and although it can be simple it can also not be simple. It would be up to you.
For me here on the West Coast the red color came after it went to full eclipse and started going the other way. Directly overhead. It was gorgeous. I got some good images and some not so good images.
I don't do a lot of printing and don't have a high end photo printer. But I will say I gave up on "compatible" cartridges long ago. What I saved up front usually cost grief and stress later on. I bite the bullet and use Epson ink cartridges in my Epson printers.
Sorry for your loss. Our fur kids are family for sure. We lost Hercules, our big male tabby, last year. He was 18. I miss him every day still. We still have our two chihuahua mix kids and two longhaired kitties that keep us busy.
I just got this lens last Friday for my 80D. So far I am happy with it. I am a hobbyist so tack sharp images are nice when I can get them but not super critical. I have noticed it struggles to focus a bit in low-ish light. In decent light it is quick, reasonably sharp, and quiet. Pretty tough to beat for the money imho.
