I have a couple of old photos that I would like to turn digital.
What would yield better results, scan them or use a copy setup with lighting and a camera?

Make sure what ever external drive you get it has RAID. Then you can mirror the drives. So if one drive dies the other is a mirror and had all your data stored on it.

I agree 100%!
At this point since the banks dropped the ball on the business protection plan, many of us are screwed and may be forced to close. I for one am being squeezed real hard, after over 40 years in business this is eating away any retirement I have saved.

Does anyone make a hard drive that I can download my SDG cards to that does not require a computer?
If not, someone should invent these, would make travel backup so convenient.

Someone should come out with an external hard drive that you can put your just put your card and automatically download your pics to it. This would eliminate the need of carrying a laptop all over the world. And lighten up you travel bags just a bit.

I have been getting all my other emails at optonline. And actually received an UHH update yesterday, however it came in a day late.

Now that you mention it.....I am not receiving it either.
Can't tell when was the last one, as I delete them. But there aren't any of them in the trash so I think at least 30 days may be?

Also did not get the email about responses to this thread, as I am subscribed!

For years, I have been getting the daily updates for the sections that I subscribed. For the past week or so, these updates have not been coming. Is this happening to everyone?
I checked my profile, and all seems good, also checked my spam and trash folders but there was nothing there.

What makes you think anyone was trying to argue? I didn’t see any argument?

I never said there was an argument, in fact I if you read the statement I was trying for this to NOT turn into a pissing match!

I think the entire idea of a forum IS to get feed back and improve your work; or, at least validate your work to some degree. There are one or two people posting that have truly great photos which serves as an example of great work and a challenge to get as good as those setting examples. (one example would be robeng!) Yes, some feed back is nit-picky, or even unwarranted or based upon personal morals etc but the bottom line should be to take it in, learn, and pay attention to the smallest detail; be a better photographer.
This photo above is pretty good, beautiful model, excellent pose (except maybe for her toes, lol) The horizon line is a bit distracting but the artistic value overpowers the tilt. I assume the high key over exposure was purposeful as another artistic flair. Altogether, nice job, thanks for sharing.

Agree 100%

JoeJoe,
If you do not want a critique then don’t post pics.
It’s normal for someone to give critiques in a photography forum like this.
Just a suggestion, since it seems that you can not handle them.

I believe Rogstrix was just making a suggestion. Not looking into starting an argument. People on here always seem to get snippy, that is why many of us rarely post! It often gets to the point that I no longer even want to be part of UHH!
Anyone asking for comments/critique should be able to handle them.
