Nice. I really like the lighting in the first.

Thanks. It was a bit of a surprise but I like it too.

Practicing with my new Tamron 150-600 G2 after figuring out the lock ring. (another post)
We're down in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Went for a drive to find photo subjects and found some of the best in the area. Hope you like them, SOOC. Still learning on the G2 but having a blast learning.

That is funny! Glad you solved the issue.

Even more amusing is all those responding without reading your 2nd post.

I'm glad too. I was kinda heartbroken for a while there. Also glad I didn't break the locking mechanism. Went out today and did some shooting. Need to take the time to download to my PC then phone so I can post some. Wild horses in the Ozarks.

As we age, “intuitive” becomes more and more not intuitive. My “duh” moments are the norm these days. Good news is that I’m not throwing my gear, yet.

Yep as long as we can continue to function we're ok. Thanks for the reply.

Don't feel bad, these misunderstandings happen.....hopefully it didn't stress anything by trying to overwhelm the "lock". That is a fine lens... I just picked up the older version (G1) and am very pleased with it and it's performance. It arrived looking like brand new, (feel like I got an excellent copy) is very sharp across the zoom range, and it has not yet started to have "zoom creep", so no need yet for the lock.... Enjoy the lens and have fun!!

Thanks for the reply olemikey.
After the scare all seems to be well. This lens was purchased from a local shop. An elderly customer purchased it, used it twice and decided it was too big and returned it. I got a great deal on it. Hoping I get to know it now.

The best advice I can give you is DON'T GET WD40 ANYWHERE NEAR ANY OF YOUR LENSES! Best of luck.

Thanks for the advice. Problem solved with the lock ring.

Thanks for the reply Jimmy. At least the lens is ok. Now I just need to get to know it. I'm outside for the rest of the month in southern Missouri. Should be a great opportunity for photos. If I get any that warrant posting I'll share.

We've all had those "aha" moments. Congratulations on figuring it out.

I was having LR issues and someone on UHH mentioned that those were expected results when shooting jpeg. My comment to myself was that I never shoot jpeg but on checking the camera settings...... I don't know how changes were made to the settings but they were not where they were supposed to be.

Thanks for trying to make me feel better Dodie. They come more frequently as I get older. My new favorite saying is "Old age ain't for sissies."

Was there a manual supplied with the lens?

Did you read it?

Yes and yes. Just forgot about the second locking feature on the zoom ring. I didn't activate it intentionally.

There you go! Do you have the manual? If not, see http://tamron.cdngc.net/inst/pdf/a022inst_1607_en.pdf

I do have the manual and have read it. I remembered there was a lock but forgot to look for it. I had just sent the help request when I found it.

Thanks Doc. I found the lock ring was activated and doing exactly what it was supposed to do. Duh.

After months of research, and trying to make a decision, I recently purchased a Tamron 150-600 G2 pre-owned. I love it but didn't get much chance to try it out before the grace return period ended. Now it seems I have a problem. The zoom is extremely stiff. Such that I have to hold the foot in order to operate it. It wasn't like that when I bought it and it hasn't been used or dropped. Can they be lubricated with WD40 or something?
My dream has turned into a bad dream. I'm out RVing in a place with no cell service, just spotty WiFi. Help please. I figured this would be the place to get advice.

The light was a bit harsh coming through the window. So after making some adjustments in Lightroom I brought it into Photoshop. I used a solid light blue gradient. In the blending mode I used hue at 95%. I usually try different blends until I find what I like. This gave it a bit of a cool feel.
I hope this helps

Thanks for the info. It does help except that I don't know much about PP. Old school I guess.
