Sunday afternoon I saw this Robin and its mate carrying worms into my Japanese maple tree which told me they had a nest and babies so I took a look and saw the nest with four tiny babies in it. Also that same afternoon I saw a cat next to my front steps but it didn't hang around when it saw me. Now comes Monday. The robins were nowhere to be seen and I knew something was wrong so I took a look and the nest was empty. My first thought was the cat had come back and gotten them. I was wrong. Tuesday morning as I was beneath the tree pulling weeds all four babies were on the ground dead. My belief is that my local mockingbird is a serial killer.

We have daily visits from these birds and have to cover new seedlings or they will devour them. Pretty and interesting but obnoxious also.

For your RX10, upload the last image taken by the camera (JPEG only, no editing -- direct from the camera) to www.camerashuttercount.com and see if it works.

I found one site this morning indicating Sony is no providing the shutter count in the EXIF-file any longer, starting with newer releases like like the A7R IV, A7S III, A7C, etc.

Thanks for trying, but the program said that the camera does not supply the necessary information. Nothing is ever easy!!! Note sure why camera manufacturers do not want you to find out this info.

Nikon, Pentax, and Sony include the shutter count information in the EXIF data of the photos shot using their cameras. Canon has not done this since DSLRs of the early 2000s. In fact, with each DIGIC processor generation, Canon changes how / where the camera's shutter count is maintained within the camera, many times invalidating existing software that can access this data.

Tools now divide over Mac (Apple) and Windows. Possibly, to obtain the EOS RP, you can only do this via software that operates on specific MAC OS versions. Before paying for any software tool, carefully review the list of supported cameras. This Mac-based tool lists the EOS RP, with the caveat that Canon stores the count only in 1000 increments, not down to an actual count:

I have a Sony RX10 which I recently purchased used from MPB. I am curious as to how old the camera is. I checked the EXIF data on a photo which I took and do not see the shutter count in the data. Am I missing something?

Shot this yesterday with my new Nikon D7200 which Ive had for a few weeks and am enjoying soon to introduce it to my Tamron 100-400mm. The Pheasant shot was with my Nikon 70-300mm. Comments are invited! Zoom in as well!

I am open to suggestions from anyone who uses a big prime. These photos are all with the Canon R5 and 600mm F4 and a 2x. Yes, I know the 2x will soften photos. Maybe I would have been better off with the 1.4 and cropping more or even 600mm and yet more crop? These photos have all been cropped but not much, maybe 20%.

I am new to a big prime and this was on a tripod with a gimbal head. ISO ranged from 2000 to 3500. To keep ISO as low as I could 1/640 they were not moving fast, F8 best I could do and 1200mm. Lightroom, Topaz DeNoise and a couple Sharpen also, but it did not seem to help much.

Maybe I'm expecting too much? I know with the light snow there is atmospheric issues. I also think the R5 on occasion, even though the focus box is right on the eye focuses on what ever has the most contrast nearby.

These are not for pixel peeping! From a distance the photos don't look too bad, but certainly not sharp! I can count his teeth on the 4th one, so maybe at 1200mm that is all one can expect.

Comments and prime lens help appreciated!

I think these are outstanding!!! When you enlarge the image you can count the snow flakes. Who could ask for more!!!

Down the street sits a 1956 Buick Special. I have often snapped pics of, and thought of driving this car. It has sat idle since 2010, but still is in decent condition. I was told recently by the owner that this car is going to Oklahoma when Summer gets here. The car was recently moved off the street, and the original hubcaps removed. I was glad that I was able to capture a decent image before they were removed.

The Desoto’s rear deck was photographed a few years ago when I saw it parked for sale alongside the road. It was a ‘55.
