I would like some suggestions on Editing software. I shoot with a Nikon D3300 and D7200, I would like something that's downloadable to my computer that's 1 and done. I know PS and LR you can buy but also have to subscribe and pay either a monthly or annual fee. I want Something that works well with RAW (NEF) and JPEG, but don't want to pay the monthly or annual fees. I don't do a lot of editing but would like to get into it to enhance my photos like the horse show I did so I could block out some of the busy backgrounds and what not. any suggestions?
I would like some suggestions on Editing software.... (show quote)

I just bought Paint Shop Pro Ultimate for a special of $39.99. In looking through the tutorials, I believe that my D3400 photo's will easily be enhances, with back ground removal, editing, adding Bokah, and there are no monthly annual fees. Look for a "special" price, or search on the web for a $ cheap) version. I would recommend at least 2018 version, I just bought the 2019 Ultimate version, and the 2020 version is not out for around $80.

This, very simply put, is the way exposure works in your camera. The light-sensitive material is the SENSOR and ISO (GLASS and its SIZE), it can be set to fill more quickly or slowly as needed. Once set, the SHUTTER (VALVE) allows light to flow through the lens for a precise amount of time and the APERTURE (VALVE) controls how much light can flow through. Working together, under your control, the correct settings are made and the optimum exposure is accomplished.

Bob, I like this description, is there a chart or graph which talks about external light considerations and the appropriate approximate settings so that we start at some point that may not be right but is reasonably close. With that bit of information, I would then go practice this method to see if my manual photography can do a better job than auto, by taking multiple pictures of the same setting over time with variable light sources, intensity, and reflection (here is where we need to understand what filters to use to adjust the light intensity on top of the aperature and shutter). Am I correct in this thinking?

Personally, I like them all, and depending on the purpose any of them could be used. I would recommend that you tilt the camera so the table is straight
on all of them. Mike

Bob, thanks for the explanation. It greatly simplifies Manual settings. Can you further express Aperture vs Shutter speed? I understand the concept of more light with aperture, but when is it best to consider shutter speed changes and how would that effect Aperture?...thanks, Mike (mikeglaw@gmail.com)

Any Chance an iOS update went through in last several weeks? I know I have one pending that I have not done. Never know what that might screw up.

I am only importing JPEGs, so have not noticed an issue (at least yet!!!!)

Good luck?

I just upgraded to 12.1.1. I’ll try this version with my IPad Air 2 and see what happens.

That's a good suggestion, unless the OP feels confident in delving into it themselves. Other good suggestions are to check the system BIOS to make sure the computer is actually making use of all its resources at their full rated speed, cleaning up the system or reinstalling Win10, and making sure that the software being used has no specific hardware limitations (or quirks) that are being ignored. You have plenty of horsepower despite the age of the system.

Also, when you rebuild Wi 10 64 bit, convert to pro, and change you primary to a ssd (min 512 gb, 1tb better) and make your storage drives hDD and external. An 8tb box is only about $200. Lastly, run a program (I use CCCLEANER) that will flush your trash folder (deleted pic, software) daily (at end of session. Also, in your task folder, disable any startup apps you don’t need. All these suggestions will greatly improve the performance of your already good system.

Min I5, 16gb mem, for portability, 1tb ssd, and 128gb usb stick for transfer to another computer. Graphics should be at least Radeon 960, for good picture quality. If it’s a desktop, change to I7, 32 big mem, 512 tb ssd with 2 Tb hDD drives, same graphics or better.

We flew Virgin, and it was ok. We did the Kruger park safari tour, spending 3 days there, and that was terrific. Bring you camera, cause the pics are awesome!

It is cheaper to buy an SSD drive and replace your hard drive, if you know how to do that, or if you know someone who does.

If you have a computer, you can have the manual read to you. There are also video’s of “how to use/take pictures with your DSLR Camera”. Try these as well.

If you can replace your hdd with an ssd, at least 512gb (cost about $130 on Amazon) you can add about a 5x speed improvement. Also, if you can double your memory tha may help.
