Thanks

I used to have the tutorial for this "porcelain" look but I can't find it anywhere. I have a couple images I would like to try this with. Does anyone know how to do it or where I can find the tute?

Thanks!

I wish there were college courses that teach Photoshop. It would definitely take at least a semester to just scratch the surface with everything PS can do. I spend a lot of time on www.photoshopusertv.com and www.kelbytv.com. I love the videos and the guys are a lot of fun.

We have college courses teaching Photoshop in So. Calif.

Figures...I just moved back to Missouri after living in Monterey for 5 months..I need an outside course..I don't have the self discipline to learn it all on my own.

Thanks Alice! The calendars will be great for my youth class to do as Christmas gifts!

You're welcome, Rhonda. I've ordered several of the blank cards and put in my own photos. It just make them more special that way. In fact, I don't even buy artwork for the walls any more. I figure my pictures are almost as good as anyone else so I blow em up and frame em.
Have fun with your class. Post pictures if you can.

Actually, there's a lot of new stuff in CS5 that wasn't in CS4. My favorites are Content Aware and Puppet Warp. However, I'm not finished exploring, either. Paying the bills gets in the way of fun.... lol

To me, Content Aware is worth the price in itself. I've not had the opportunity to use Puppet Warp yet. I haven't ever used Vanishing Point either. I still have so much to learn especially about layers, masks, curves among others.

Go to Adobe and download the trial. You get 30 days with it. I love it but honestly I don't think I get $800 worth of use with it. Adobe now even has where you can get a subscription to it, but if you use it very often you'll end up paying more in the long run.

I had the 70-200 2.8 and it was too heavy and cumbersome for location work. I traded even up for a used 18-200 VR. It's considerably smaller and I love the greater range. I'm considering getting a teleconverter but need advice on a good one.

All of Fong's stuff is overpriced in my opinion. The only reason I have the Collapsible is he sent it to me. I use it and it works fine but I still like my little Lumiquest softbox for the Speedlight...I'm just reluctant to put Velcro around the SB800. I can still use it on my old SB28 and it works just fine especially for a little fill light while it triggers the sb800 off camera.

Gary sent me one of his Collapsible Lightspheres just before it came out on the market and I use it all the time. I've lost the dome and I need to get another one, but otherwise I use it even outdoors. He's got a number of videos on Youtube showing his products. He and Melissa are on Facebook and he's great about answering any questions.
