Try the Canon G7 X MK II (MK III Price is not justified) for a fantastic small, travel, do everything camera. Won’t be disappointed. Later, you may decide on a full frame DSLR or Mirrorless. This Canon is intuitive and has great image quality and a great low light lens. Good Luck!

Panasonic LUMIX FZ1000 handles all my “Bridge” camera needs. Great IQ, fast auto focus, and very balanced handling with great zoom which can double digitally. 2.8-4 Leica lens, great 4K video and 5 axis hybrid stabilization system. Super camera.

KEH and B&H have been great in my dealings with them. No hesitation using them.

Have owned the G7X MK II for couple years now and use it for almost everything. Am positively more than happy with it: Excellent IQ, portability, construction and reliability, toughness, and intuitiveness. Originally thought I would miss the EVF but the flip screen is excellent and I’ve experienced no problems in bright light situations. Also, the fast lens is excellent for low light. Have used other p&s with huge zoom capabilities but felt most suffered if not on tripod at long range and personally don’t enjoy carrying a tripod on most excursions. When I need the extra distance, which is not often, I use my Bridge camera. For me the G5X MK II’s pop up EVF being on the extreme left top of the camera felt at an odd shooting angle for me. Good luck with your acquisition. Really can’t go wrong with these.

Unk for cemeteries, but.....The Royal Military Tattoo at Edinburgh has performances for about 3 weeks every August and is on a lot of people’s “must see” list in case you’ve not been previously advised.

Go to Best Buy and try out (hold and handle) a few different point & shoot (p&s) models and have the clerk review very basic functions and how to shoot Auto mode. Take home and practice a few days to familiarize yourself. Not knowing more about you, etc. if not already able to use a DSLR-type you are only going be frustrated trying to learn. With the P&S you will have a capable, small camera for travel and you can still enjoy your trip. Try the Canon G7X MK II, G9X MK II, Sony RX100, Sony HX 80, and Panasonic LUMIX ZS 100 to name a few. You don’t have to change lens and most have a fast lens good for low light shooting and often not needing a flash.

Have been using Hilton Honors American Express Card for many years and very pleased with the rewards program (Hilton Honors). Points never expire, accumulate for every Hilton hotel group stay, for every$ charged on the card anyplace and anything, and up to 8 points for every $ spent at certain restaurants. Although points can be converted for other features, I use mine strictly for free stays and vacations at Hilton group hotels and have never had a problem or disappointment. AMEX is accepted at many places today and is my go-to credit card and Hilton hotels very accommodating—great combination.

Depends on the preference mood I would be looking to attain. Can easily make a case for #1 or #3. Tonight I will pick 1, tomorrow perhaps 3. If I wanted to hang on the wall of my study....probably go with #1.

Canon G7X MK ll is a great performer with a fast low-light lens. I originally thought the 100mm may have been a little short on zoom, but I now realize it covers 95% or more of what I shoot. Handles street and landscape excellent. If more zoom is needed/wanted, the Leica C (Type 112) is excellent, even smaller and lighter, and has 200mm zoom but costs more and may not have a lot of features some want. I found out too much zoom is not all that good when handheld anyway in most instances. You should have no trouble finding something but ensure it fits you...some brands have menus that require a lot of deciphering. The G7X MK ll has intuitive menus, excellent IQ and color saturation...very pleasing.

Luray Caverns, Virginia is a great stop enroute. Then onto the Asheville, NC area and if visiting the Biltmore Mansion and Winery, I highly suggest a stay or at least visit at the Omni Grove Park Inn. It is nestled in the mountains and only minutes from the Biltmore and art galleries of Asheville. Truly one of the best hotel stays in the country. Has a museum of the hotel in the basement that is great concerning the area and hotel history. The lobby and bar area with overlooks of the mountains and valleys are amazing. The views are even amplified during winter snowfalls. Enjoy...

Panasonic LUMIX LX100 fits the bill. You won’t be disappointed. It is pocketable, has a fast (low light) 1.7-2.8 Leica lens, under 16 oz., and has 4K video. Lumix have easy and intuitive menus.
