Another nice ragtop. Great pics. I like the studio pics better, no distractions.

Thanks for sharing these.

Another work of art, with an improvement - it's a rag top. I don't believe in hard tops in cars and drive year round top down. As a result I crave and appreciate the rag top. Thanks.

The outside circle of tropical storm winds blew over us. We have 150mph roof so no issues there, just the usual assortment of small sticks and leaves. A bit further north a small town got hit real bad.

Funny. This replacement stuff may be art, but it's not photography.

I don't cook competition, just for friends and family. Our chili has what folks like.

I fixed a pot last week. Started with a 3 lb chuck roast, smoked for 6 hours, chopped and then braised for a couple hours before adding other ingredients.

My son in law (who is a superb cook) said it was the best he ever had.

There have been numerous times in the discussions here where the cost of film and the concept that it's free to shoot digital are mentioned. So, let's take a look at this misguided concept. The facts and figures presented here are from personal experience. Additionally, they are mainly focused on 35mm as that is the closest format to what most are using here.

I added some additional formats just for grins.

Film expense:
1 roll of 100ft Ilford HP5 - $80.00
1 liter of developer Ilford DD-X - $20.00
1 gallon of Kodak fixer - $13.00

100 feet of film yields 18 rolls of 36 exposures. The cost per exposure $0.12
1 liter of developer - can process 50 rolls or 900 exposures. The cost per exposure $0.02
1 gallon of fixer - can process 50 rolls or 900 exposures. The cost per exposure $0.01

Thus, each exposure costs $0.15

A Nikon D850 is priced at $3000. Thus, for the cost of a Nikon D850 body only, one could shoot 20000 photographs.

For 120 film that's 4,751 exposures using 2-1/4x2-3/4 cameras and 5,660 exposures for 2-1/4x2-1/4 format

Using 4x5 film will provide me 1,477 exposures.

So, all in all, it's not as expensive as one might profess.

When the COVID virus first appeared, the media started creating what I call fear porn. As an example, most of the networks often put a splash screen on with the cumulative number of cases and or deaths. IMO the cumulative count is almost useless and serves to do nothing but create fear. Create fear means ratings and in some cases attempts at control. The more important data is the daily change.

I listen to both science and my docs. The science on this has been changed many times, bad messaging from many places and without consistency. I have a friend who is an RN and works in a hospital treating patients. They universally used hydrocloraquin, zinc, etc cocktail early on as that was all they had. Don't know what they use now. Point - docs will do everything they can if science is not up to speed yet.

A lot has been learned by both science and docs in the last six months. This has lead to a reduction in fatalities. I hope state authorities have learned not to put sick folks in with the elderly nursing home patients.

I think that many want to compare to flu because it's part of human nature to try and understand.

I hope that folks understand that shutting down the economy was and is a disaster. IMO CA, NY etc are going to have a hard time recovering, economically.

If you want to see a science based approach to managing the Covid virus, look at Sweden. Their numbers are comparable, no masks and the economy was not killed.

We have yet to see the massive after effects of the shutdown on mental health, economic well being, esp for those less fortunate. Some deaths from various morbidities is way up, because folks avoided going to doc because of fear (fear porn spread by media).

We got our flu shots Monday (today is Wed). Both my wife and I are in the great fear porn bubble of being over 70. We both had covid and are perfectly fine today. We took no medications; we did talk to medical professionals during the course of the illness. Life is back to normal. We live in a southern state and as a result we have a lot more freedom than those in other parts of US, IMO. We wear masks for indoor activities. I wear a mask to enter football game, but take mask off when taking seat.

Be careful, be aware of your individual condition and live your life.

The Dragon is no place for sight seeing. I am one of those many sports cars. We have driven the Dragon numerous times, it's a hoot and a great experience. I have a number of videos taken during my drives. If they were during fall, it would be scenic. Can't take your eyes off the road to look at trees on the Dragon :).

I would not drive Dragon in the fall because of falling leaves. If the leaves get a bit damp, they become very slippery. Cannot afford to give up grip on The Dragon.

We have found Tues - Thurs are best days for a run as most of the organized events revolve around weekend. You can find more info. plus schedules https://tailofthedragon.com/.

For scenery try the Cherohola Skyway. https://cherohala.com/. I ran it once, pretty boring if you are a driver, but great scenery.

Hardly an analogy. Been wearing masks in surgery for decades. Has nothing to do with people who choose not to wear a mask they don't believe is effective (read warnings on commercially available masks).
